COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A perfect marriage of the gutsy hoppy character of an IPA with the complex malty backbone of a red ale. Ruby red in colour with a thick off-white head, perfectly balanced combination of hops and rich European malt with a wallop of hop flavour and aroma character from American and Australian hops. First batch at 5.4%, subsequent batches at 5%.

Bottle pours near opaque ruby amber with big resilient off white head. Aromas of citrus, mandarins, grass atop of a grainy lightly sweet toasted malts. Medium light body, medium carbonation, malts giving a certain toasty character balanced with a rounded hop flavor.

On tap at the Prince, Kirrawee. Pours a reddish amber with a beige head. Aroma: toffee malt, caramel, mild dried fruit notes. Not particularly aromatic. Taste: toffee, caramel, mild raisins, stonefruit, pine flavours. Fairly complex. Thin to medium bodied. Moderate bitterness that lingers mildly on the palate. This was quite good.

330mL bottle from Slowbeer. BB Dec 2017 (?) Pours a reddish bronze body, creamy off-white head. Good nose to it - burnt toast, dark toffee, touch of cocoa & toasted nut, dark citrus, grapefruit & blood orange, some piney resin. Mid-full body, reasonably chewy, lingering finish. Solid malty backbone of sweet biscuit & toast & toffee with red berries, citrus & pine hop notes, moderately bitter, good balance. Lovely red ale overall.

Copper pour with a thick pale tan head. Toffee, spicy, earthy and piney aroma. Taste is big caramel malt, earthy, then a bit of citrus and pine, not overly bitter but pretty tasty

From a 330ml bottle on 2/12/2017. Pours a dark reddy amber with a samll head The nose is malty and fruity. Flavour wise you get caramel and toasted, hints of dark fruit and berry sweetness, finished off by some firm hops. Seems much hoppier than 35 IBU. Medium bodied with fairly lively carbonation. Could use a bit more sweetness to balance things out, but not bad.

Far Side bottle(27-Sep-17) Berry spice aroma. Deep red, decent white head and sheet lacing. Berry cara malt flavour. Mid bitter malt finish and light pepperberry aftertaste.

Davros (3338) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - JUN 18, 2017
Pours copper, large fading head. Nose shows toffee, caramel, spicy and resinous hops, golden syrup. Flavours include some syrupy malt and caramel but follow with cardboard notes. Some spicy hops. Quite sweet, not much bitterness, calling it a red ipa might be a bit of a stretch.

Draught at the brewery. Pours a hazy ruby amber, with a moderate off-white head, which lasts well and leaves decent lacing. The aroma has plenty of caramel, with pine and red fruit hops. Moderate pine and sweet orange hops up front move into rich caramel malt in the mid-palate. The caramel lasts into the finish, where it mixes nicely with fruity hops. A good red IPA.

ANZUShophunter (649) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - DEC 6, 2016
On tap at Black Bunny, Alexandra Headlands. Pours rusty red with good lacing. Taste is more malt- than hop-driven. Interesting enough to seek out the imperial version.

3.3
Dervock (1506) - AUSTRALIA - OCT 14, 2016
Bottle - pours red with a small white head. Aroma is caramel, bit of chocolate and floral hops. Taste is mild upfront then a growing bitter floral finish.
