Pour on tap at GABF, dark brownish black pour with tan head, aroma brought notes of big dark chocolate, coffee, roast, some nice sweet vanilla, brownie, into a bit of whiskey, oak and hints of spice. Taste was a mix of yeast, spice, dark chocolate into a bit of earth, lots of cocoa, brownie notes with bourbon, whiskey notes, finishing sweet. Nice. dnstone (3418) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - JAN 22, 2015
Chocolate tootsie roll aroma. Deep brown in color with light tan-colored head. Lighter in taste for an imperial stout. Sweet flavor; chocolatey and roasty...not much bourbon character.

On tap at Winter Warmer Fest 2014

This was one of the main reasons I wanted to come to the festival. It did not disappoint at all. A world class barrel aged imperial stout is robust from first impression to final sip. I would definitely purchase this on draft if it made its way north.
Aroma / Appearance - A creamy inky black foundation is murky like motor oil drained from a high mileage car. Mocha head helps trap a profile rich in Woodford Reserve, vanilla, malt, coffee, and dark fruits. Thick and boozy it still manages to keep from being a muddy mess.
Flavor / Palate - Creamy and full bodied waves of flavor coat the tongue like a thick layer of paint. Woodford is offset by trades of vanilla, coffee, anise, raspberries, and cocoa. A masterful balance carries into a bittersweet finish. I could have drunk this all afternoon if not for so many other options to try.
Draught in a snifter. Pours black with a very thin chestnut head. Aroma is bourbon, coffee, and vanilla. Earthy and heavy. Slightly honey sweet. Aftertaste is alcoholic. Advocate_Ames (626) - Steubenville, Ohio, USA - DEC 30, 2013
Pours almost a pure black with a dissipating mocha brown head that ends up sticking to my glass. The aroma is of a medium intensity of sweet bourbon, dominating vanilla, oak, molasses, cocoa, and a pleasant tone of malts. In tasting I picked up on everything in the aroma. The bourbon had a descent but pleasant boozy bite. In addition I notice a mild bitterness and I really enjoyed the sweet malty flavor in the finish. Overall this beverage was delightful and well worth a try.

On tap @ GABF. Black pour with a tan head. Bourbon, licorice, and roasted malt aromas. Some ash, oak, and dark fruits. A touch of acidity and dark fruits. Flavor is more bitter than expected. Light sweetness of dark fruit, vanilla, and bourbon. Oak, ash, and roasted malt. Decent licorice character, too. Iphonephan (6988) - Jackson Hole/McLean, Virginia, USA - OCT 11, 2013
Sample at the 2013 GABF. Pours Black with a tan head. Bourbon nose. Flavors of plum, rains, oak and vanilla. Lingering roast finish. kermis (13433) - The Hague / Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - OCT 10, 2013
Sample at GABF 2013. Pours near black with a beige head. Aroma of massive bourbon, vanilla, fudge, toffee and caramel malt. Flavour is heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. MrHangover (4552) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - OCT 10, 2013
Sample @ GABF 13. Pours a pitch black beer with virtually no head on top. Aroma is epic, full on bourbon, oak, molasses and vanilla. Flavour is very sweet, alcohol is well hidden. There is more barrel characters in the flavor then in the aroma. Finish is medium long and sweet as well. Very nice surprise. alexsdad06 (10415) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - AUG 1, 2013
Growler at Jackie O’s (from notes). Pours very dark brown/black with a thin beige head. The aroma has dark roasted malts, dark chocolate, bourbon, ash, dark fruits and a hint of smoke. The flavor is roasted malts, dark chocolate, bourbon, vanilla, ash, earthy hops and a hint of smoke. The dark fruits also are there. Good bitterness at the back with quite a bit of barrel, smooth mouth feel and medium body. Better out of the barrel.
Sampled at Cincy beerfest also.
