Deep Orange, big head, clear/translucent.Light aroma of pine @ earthy hops. Mouthfeel is very dry, flavor is papery, earthy hops. From a Growler shared at Curtis’s tasting. pantanap (3366) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - OCT 30, 2011
On tap at the brewery...pour yields a lucid mostly opaque copper orange toned liquid that is topped with a thin to medium creamy white head... Grassy and herbal hopped tinged aroma first with a citrus orange and tangerine-like backing... Piney and herbal hop flavors to start thing off, perhapa a little spruce and followed up by sweeter grapefruit and citrus while an adequate caramel malt for a little balance medium to fuller bodied before finishing of with a bitter bite. Solid and enjoyed Braudog (6804) - Yorktown, Virginia, USA - OCT 9, 2011
Draft at the brewpub. Dark amber. Quite rich and malty, but with a nice acidity riding the top of the flavor wave. Very nice end to a long day of beer in Asheville. (#4316, 10/5/2011) tmongoose (2504) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - SEP 6, 2011
on tap at the wedge, amber orange color with minimal white head. the aroma of citrus and floral undertones and the balance malt earthiness flavor is awesome. the hops are so well balanced and the tast of the citrus dancing on your tongue. the hop finish stays on your tongue even after the last swallow. j12601 (13035) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - AUG 26, 2011

Pours orange from tap with a thin white head. Big floral notes on nose. Massive burst of hop flavor on the tongue almost sweet in it’s intensity with a nice floral dry finish. One of the best IPA’s I’ve had in my brief experience. GT (10002) - San Diego, California, USA - AUG 23, 2011
Growler at Shenandoah Throwdown. Pours a clearish orange with a medium, decent, off-white head. Peaches and cream aroma. Taste is very astringent and bitter like dried nut skins. Strange melon squashiness comes through reminiscent of EKG hops. Big English hop profile. Extremely bitter and mildly astringent but not offensive in that regard. Enjoyable. bjt512 (292) - Athens, Georgia, USA - AUG 12, 2011
On tap at the Admiral in Asheville, NC. This poured pale orange into a shaker and left scant lacing as I drank it down. The hopping was restrained, as befits an English-style ipa, and the palate proved lively and fizzy, almost like a wheat beer. Overall, this was an adequate accompaniment to a phenomenally tasty meal of arugula salad and steak tartare, so you know it had some heft to it to stand up to some strong flavors. Yet it barely managed that heft, and frequently tasted more like a moderate pale ale than an ipa. Overall, weaker and more restrained than I like even in an English ipa, with an overall flavor of sweet malt rather than the pleasant give-and-take of bitterness and sweetness. Certainly drinkable, but nothing I would seek out. anders37 (26878) - Malmö, SWEDEN - JUN 28, 2011
Draft @ the brewery. Pours a hazy orange amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty hoppy grapefruit aroma. Fruity malty hoppy bitter grapefruit flavor. Has a fruity malty hoppy bitter grapefruit finish. HighlanderOne (1365) - York, SC via NJ, South Carolina, USA - MAY 17, 2011
On tap at Wedge.
Fruit cocktail aroma.
Orange amber thin head.
Taste sensation of floral grapefruit hops with wild cherry notes and something that I couldn’t identify but I liked.
Bold, raw feel.
