Leighton (22507) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 30, 2016
Draft at the brewery tap during RBWG 2014 - Asheville. Pours clear amber with a creamy, white head. Good and bready, with light peat, ripe fruits. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Nicely balanced to conclude, with more toasty bread, ripening fruits, berries. Solid for the style.

Keg @ Wedge during RBWG, Asheville. Deep amber pour with a small off-white head. The nose is moderately spicy. Pepper and nutmeg-covered dark fruits. Rich slightly smoked grain, toffee. Smoked malt flavor. What can be described as an umami flavor. Salted peat and dark berries. A bit of woody heat. Quite rich and oily. A bit flabby.

Draft at the brewery during RBWG. Pours a hazy dark amber color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have sweet caramel malts, lightly toasted bread, some mild fruitiness, light earthy notes, very mild smoked character. Just ok.

>> Thanks Leighton, Neilsens, jackl, et al for the share. Pours full haze, deep red with a thick, off-white head. Nose is dogfood style Vienna malt, raw and crackery. Taste is slightly smokey, cherry juice. Palate is fairly rich, just not my style.

phaleslu (10731) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - FEB 20, 2014
Draft taster at the brewery. Pours a cloudy amber with a white sheet of lace. Notes of toasted and caramel malts, brown sugar, earth, and peat. Light-bodied, with a dry mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Simple Scottish ale, and not bad. Seemed more like a Scotch ale.

on tap @ Wedge Brewing --- Hazy dark amber, rim head, streamers of lace. Malt with a hint of cloves and raisins, some caramel appears in the palate, but it is short-lived; light bitters in the finish. Very light for a Scottish Ale. Not the best example.
