It’s definitely a barley wine not an imperial ipa. It has citrus flavors with some orange, bread, some molasses. Itzjerm (3113) - Taft, Tennessee, USA - OCT 31, 2014
Syrup like dipa. Sweet malty. Thick like wih a but of hop but very little bitterness. Almost likes week hopped imperial red.

Draft at the source during RBWG. Cloudy orange color, huge cream colored head with good retention and solid lacing. Aroma of orange peel. Taste is bitter citrus, pine, caramel. Very tasty.
Snifter at Wedge. Good aroma, sweet. Sweet citrus. Big grapefruit.Brownish orange color, ok head and lace. Bittersweet flavor. Thick body creamy oily mouthfeel, bitter finish. It’s nice, called a barleywine here. Nice drinking fit it’s abv. rosenbergh (11793) - Tampere, FINLAND - OCT 19, 2014
Draught at the Wedge, Asheville, NC.
Slightly cloudy amber colour with a small off-white head.
Fruity and resiny hops, moderate bitterness and malty sweetness in the aroma.
The flavour is strong... both in hops and alcohol. Piney and fruity hops, a truck load of sweetness... Is it possible to load a truck with sweetness? Sweet malt and alcohol. Tasty.

On tap at the brewery, this pours a copper hue with a thin ring of suds that leave virtually no lacing down the glass. Lots of caramel, floral hops and esters to the nose. Flavors of caramel, fruity esters, lots of pine hops, alcohol, light diacetyl notes and finishing with a fruity sweetness with a light burn. The mouth eel is chewy, the palette sticky. The body is very full, and for an American barley wine, this is sweet and hits the spot wonderfully. Gorgeous offering from Wedge. phaleslu (10652) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - FEB 22, 2014
Draft in a taster at the brewery. Had this right after Iron Rail, which I guess was appropriate. Pours a cloudy bright orange- actually clearer than its lighter counterpart- with an off-white head that laces the glass. Notes of citrus fruits, caramel malts, pine resin, florals, and nectar. Medium-bodied, with a chewy, resinous mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. As with Iron Rail, I liked this better than I expected. Good imperial version. rondphoto (4494) - Lakeside Park, Kentucky, USA - FEB 14, 2014
on tap @ Wedge Brewing --- Clear dark amber. good head cover, splotches of lace. Sweet caramel malt is joined by medium citrus hops and sweet toffee in the palate for a tandem ride to an long, extended finish. Absolutely terrific balance, well designed, very satisfying, highly drinkable. Be careful: alcohol is deceptive. Whoosh! deyholla (12191) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - FEB 12, 2014
On tap at the brewery during RBWG 2014. Pours a hazy amber with a near white head that dissipates to the edges and laces. Aroma has an earthy citrus with a bit of pine and a sweet bread backbone. Flavor has a nice pine and sweet bread combination with a bit of grapefruit underlying as well as a touch of booze. jtclockwork (17264) - , New Jersey, USA - FEB 12, 2014
Draft at brewery. Pours cloudy orange gold. Nose and taste of toffee, sticky alcohol soaked fruits and caramel. Full bodied.
