A very fine OBX beach beer. 7/2002 - had it on tap at Corrolla and Manteo, in the bottle, and from a freshly filled mini-keg (in other words, we really overdid it with the fest last week!). Thin amber body. 1/4 inch head. Thin, sweet and very lightly roasted taste. faintly bitter at the end. Just a nice light chuggable beer. Dickinsonbeer (5074) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - JUN 23, 2002
What is a Festbier anyway? It is certainly not an Octoberfest nor a Marzen or Vienna Style, It’s just a Lager, nothing really special about it. Nice malty aroma with a slight bitter dryness too it. Not as smooth as some other good lagers. FlemishChar (224) - Virginia, USA - APR 15, 2002
Very drinkable fest bier. Caramelly, soft, malty. Can drink massive quantities. jagerphish99 (33) - USA - MAR 11, 2002
soft and hoppy flavor. alittle creamy. i get a dry aftertaste, a little metallic. omhper (24970) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - FEB 1, 2002
Red-amber. Malty, soft & balanced. Well made, but not the most complex of festbiers.

There really isn’t much remarkable here. It’s, well...an amber lager. Slight malt. Slight hops. Slight flavor. Inoffensive, for what it’s worth. TAR (2742) - Blue Ridge Mountains, North Carolina, USA - NOV 7, 2001
This is not a very good lager...at all. Seemed way too dry and flavorless. fishman (350) - Philadelphia, USA - SEP 7, 2001
I give up, this beer needs alot of work, but with that work it could be good. It is way too soft and yeasty. Very boring, and slightly watery. For not being offensive I give it an average mark. Delbomber (387) - Philadelphia, USA - SEP 6, 2001
Clear amber with a yeasty aroma and watery, yeasty flavor. Soft bitter finish and subtle spiciness can not bring any life to this. Not terrible, just terribly boring. dolemike1 (1288) - Jeannette, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 23, 2001
Just an average beer. Not much of anything, just a slight bitter taste.
