On tap as guest beer at Legends in Richmond VA: Copper hue with a small frothy off-white head and fair lace. Vice nice aroma with hints of cookie dough, roasted malt, hazelnut, a touch of caramel, plum and orange fruits, and some spice. Sweet and lighty bitter taste initally with some fruitiness as well. The finish was crisp and bitter. Light to medium-bodied with a clean and lively mouthfeel. Very nice version of a fest beer. I enjoyed this one a lot, a break form the same old Octoberfest offerings. Deep amber with a thick white head and good carbonation. Balanced aromas of nutty malts and herbal hops. Came off as a bold, full bodied beer that I would bet would be great with German food. Seemed similar to a Marzen with its bitterness, but without the sour aftertaste. Good balance of sweet and bitter flavors. VAYankee (353) - Virginia, USA - OCT 24, 2003
Overall an unremarkable beer. Pours a deep amber with a cream colored head. Sweet malty aroma with a hint of fruitiness. Mild malt flavoring with a shortlived slighty sweet malty aftertaste. Kinz (3786) - Glen Allen, Virginia, USA - OCT 18, 2003
Amber appearance, rapidly diminishing head. Aroma of mild malt and a bit of fruitiness. Not much malt backbone, some hoppy flavors in there, bit of grapefruit, and a bit of asparagus. Better than I expected, but pretty boring. Suttree (6505) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - SEP 25, 2003
Dark copper, kahki head. Bready, yeasty aroma. Nice and full bodied. Salty, veggie (califlower?) flavor. decent finish, but the veggie flavor dominates. can't recommend.

I was surprised at how watery tasting this beer was. While it looks nice, it has a very light malt taste and smell to it and that's pretty much it. Easy to drink, but altogether kind of boring. Braudog (6836) - Yorktown, Virginia, USA - AUG 8, 2003
Wow. Deep amber with an excellent toffee head. Nice caramel-malt aroma followed closely by a superbly authentic caramel (but subtle) malt beer. Well-done O-fest style beer. Don't know what the other raters tried...this is excellent. jgb9348 (6482) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - AUG 3, 2003
Colour is a very rich amber with a thick light tan head. Large malt aroma with some hints of spice lingering in the background. Thin bodied, almost like water with almost no taste. Some malt is evident later on in the taste, but almost no hops are present. Not even close to the style on this one, and a big disapointment. From the colour and the smell I figured I'd at least be able to drink this beer...but this is pretty bad! I got this twelve ounce bottle at Total Wine in Manassas, Virginia, but I'd suggest you not to do the same. jeffc666 (1984) - Fairfax, Virginia, USA - AUG 1, 2003
Very forgettable. Color was a nice amber with good head. Aroma is very malty. Falvor and body are disappointng. Very watery. Needs more work. Nate (4296) - Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 9, 2003
Weak aroma - malt, light bitterness. Sugary and bit of caramel. Kind of herbal. Small off-white foamy head that dissipated quickly. Small amount of haze in amber tan liquid. Medium watery body and medium subdued carbonation. King of weak in taste. Malty but not that sweet with some tang/saltiness. Very little bitterness. Weak and bitter finish and nutty after.
