I was surprised at how watery tasting this beer was. While it looks nice, it has a very light malt taste and smell to it and that's pretty much it. Easy to drink, but altogether kind of boring. VAYankee (353) - Virginia, USA - OCT 24, 2003
Overall an unremarkable beer. Pours a deep amber with a cream colored head. Sweet malty aroma with a hint of fruitiness. Mild malt flavoring with a shortlived slighty sweet malty aftertaste. fishman (350) - Philadelphia, USA - SEP 7, 2001
I give up, this beer needs alot of work, but with that work it could be good. It is way too soft and yeasty. Very boring, and slightly watery. For not being offensive I give it an average mark. Norton (333) - Southside, Richmond, Virginia, USA - OCT 3, 2002
UPDATED: SEP 15, 2004 RERATE: <b?Draft. Had this off tap at a restaurant in Outer Banks. Decent caramel flavor reminds me a little of Red Stripe. Mild carbonation, minimal head. Smooth drinker. Deep orange hue.

Thin color but great head. Not much on the nose, a little sugar and hops. Thin and crisp. A decent quaffer but nothing to write home about. Arnie (274) - Chicagoland, IL, Illinois, USA - JUL 21, 2006
On tap at the brewery. A deep amber and thick head, but nothing notable. Mildly nutty nose. iratherbe (255) - Marlton, New Jersey, USA - SEP 5, 2005
Bottle, OBX, NC. Amber lager - good oily copper color, foamy white head initially, disappers quickly, solid mellow taste, slightly sweet malt and tracing of hops followed by a fairly crisp finish. Pretty darn good. ConiseurofBeer (242) - Downingtown, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 22, 2003
Beer just tastes better to me when I'm at the beach. I guess it's psychological. This is one of my faves when I'm down in Nags Head NC. Nice malt flavor but with a good balance. Not super deep, but still has a bit of complexity. FlemishChar (224) - Virginia, USA - APR 15, 2002
Very drinkable fest bier. Caramelly, soft, malty. Can drink massive quantities.
