I wasn’t too crazy about this one. Has a somewhat off flavor, as if too old.

UPDATED: SEP 15, 2004 RERATE: <b?Draft. Had this off tap at a restaurant in Outer Banks. Decent caramel flavor reminds me a little of Red Stripe. Mild carbonation, minimal head. Smooth drinker. Deep orange hue.

Bottled. Malty aroma of fruit and bread. Flavor has hints of caramel and a sharp finish with a slight kick of hops. A little thin - as a number of this breweries bottled offerings have been. A solid offering.

Bottle. Amber colored with fairly rapidly diminishing white head. Has malty aroma, with a peculiar odor--some kind of weird sweet smell. Flavor is malty and saccharin. Too sweet. Makes you mouth draw up. Malt flavors are unbalanced and this could definitely use more hops for a balance. Oh well, it is drinkable, and tastes better as you get used to the sweetness.

Orange-amber body, thin looking. Big eggnog colored head. Decent looking. Smell is fresh hops, very sweet sugar, caramel malt...lacking complexity. Taste is roasted hops, pit fruit, nuts, butterscotch, tootsie rolls, and some fresh vegetable/carrot like flavors. Taste is suprisingly complex, given that the body and aroma were mediocre. Some woodsy, bourbon notes as well. Glad to see this a Vienna, as it certainly is nothing like the ’amber’ tag this beer sports on its bottle.

UPDATED: JAN 9, 2009 Got this in a bottle just to do a rerate. Pours a slightly hazy copper with a thin fizzy head. The nose is fruity, rotten, infected almost for sure. Flavor is infected. This beer is infected.

coolpop (1394) - Birmingham, Alabama, USA - MAY 24, 2010
Draft. Pours a dark orangey amber with a medium off white head. Aroma and flavor are malty (caramel with some darker malt) with a floral, citrus hoppy nose. Full mouthfeel. Easy drinking but fairly tasty.
