COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our golden-yellow wheat beer, with its fine-pored white foam, smells of cloves and impresses consumers with its refreshing banana flavour. It is full bodied and with a smooth yeast taste. To be enjoyed at any time (always a pleasure / enjoyment), goes excellently with fish and seafood, with spicy cheese and especially with the traditional Bavarian veal sausage. Brewed according to our centuries-old brewing tradition on the Weihenstephan hill.

A long while ago I drank this bier in a Bavarian bar. Today it is still as great of a drink as I remembered it to be. When poured correctly it has one of the most perfectly proportionate heads as any bier i have seen. The bier it’s self has a slight banana undertone with a subtle citrus after taste. Light and milky, this bier is poster child for all Bavarian Weiss biers.

UPDATED: MAY 26, 2009 Bottle thanks to Woodsman52. An awesome German Hefeweizen. Strong aroma of bread and yeast. Magnificent tangy citrus flavor of wheat, light hops, and yeast....with bit a of tart and extremely clean crisp finish. Refreshing and light. This is what I imagine a perfect German Hefeweizen to be.

Bottle thanks to Woodsman52. Hazy golden with a nice head depending on the way you pour this. Could be excessive or small depending on your expertise. Large bread yeast aroma. Slightly sweet with some short lived bitterness. Fizzy on the palate but smooth. Nice beer.

Bottle and on tap but I just finished a bottle so this review is based on a bottled sample. Consistently hazy glowing sunflower supporting a towering white head. Lots of lacing. Aroma of fresh bananas, yeast and newly cut grass. Mildly spicy but crisp banana flavor with cloves and a kiss of yeast. Rich texture and a full flavored brisk finish. Refreshing and versatile. Clearly worthy of its place as a world and style standard.

POured as cloudy yellow color with a nice whte head. Aroma is very wheaty. Flavor is much the same, not too much fruity tone mixed in.

Bottle, 50 cl. Huge rocky white head with excellent lacing. Cloudy dark yellow body. Malt aroma of grain and hay, light hop aroma, aroma of banana and bubble gum. Medium body, oily texture and lively carbonation. Moderate sweet and light bitter.

500mL bottle. Pours a nice cloudy golden colour with a nice frothy head. Nose is quite fruity, can pick up on strawberries, banana as well as a bit of a floral touch. Flavour is a bit sweet, but very clean. A bit of the banana again. Finish is quite nice, with a very slight bitter spiciness.

Bottle. Pours hazy yellow with a big foamy white head. Fantastic aroma of banana, clove, spices, candy store and wheat. Flavour is banana, more banana, clove, sweet spices and a long pleasant bitter aftertaste. What a wonder of hefes!

Weihenstephaner Hefe Weissbier is a cloudy, sparkling, hay-colored beer with a firm, dense off-white head. It has a spicy aroma of banana and clove. It is medium bodied, smooth and creamy with a clean finish. The flavor is clean, bold and smooth with a lot of spice. Its very clovey and peppery. An excellent Hefe!
