COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our golden-yellow wheat beer, with its fine-pored white foam, smells of cloves and impresses consumers with its refreshing banana flavour. It is full bodied and with a smooth yeast taste. To be enjoyed at any time (always a pleasure / enjoyment), goes excellently with fish and seafood, with spicy cheese and especially with the traditional Bavarian veal sausage. Brewed according to our centuries-old brewing tradition on the Weihenstephan hill.

Bottle, 500ml. A densely cloudy golden colour with a large frothy head. Aroma is peach, orange, banana, yeast/bread and spice (clove?). Taste is wheat, banana, spice (star anise, clove) and a touch of malt. Somewhat watery. High carbonation. Enjoyable, but I’ve had better.

From bottle, and hefe glass. Delicious aroma, banana spice flavors and aroma. Ideally drink from a large 20 oz. hefe glass so that you can enjoy the aromatics as you drink this one down. Earthy, musty, banana, fruit, sweet, bubbly. Mouthfull after mouthfull of goodness. Thoroughly enjoyable down to the very last swig. You will head directly to the refrigerator to crack open another one, even though you know you shouldn’t, not tonight, on a worknight. But it’s so tasty you can’t resist.

A fantastically drinkable and smooth German beer. I can’t wait to have another one to give it a proper rating....hold tight

I’m giving this a pretty high rating, but then I’m a fan of a really good hefe, and there are so many that let me down. This one does not let me down, and in fact it may be the best I’ve had to date. Very nice clove and banana flavors that come out strong. Truly impressive.

Pours a golden colour hazy with a small white cap. Aroma of clove, banana, wheat and hints of spice. Initial taste is wheaty with an overlay of a spicy banana. Finishing light and crisp. Palate duration is decent, and slight lacing of the glass. Enjoyable hefe.

16 oz bottle. Pours hazy orange with light carbonation and a big head. Banana, clove and cinnamon are predominant but I swear I smell some pear in there. Light flavor than the aroma would suggest. Hints of banana and clove and again, vaguely of cinnamon. Very light flavor with high carbonation level and light/medium body. Fair.

Bottle. Hazy dark yellow color with a disipating head. Aroma is of wheat and citrus. Flavor is wheaty and citrus with hint of banana. Smooth and very drinkable... great summer brew.

Your typical German hefe. Nice and fruity. Banana. Cloves. This is what you want. This is what many American hefes don’t do. Why?

DownsouthGav (601) - Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 4, 2007
Pours a lager like yellow beer. Produces a lively head. Notes of wheat yeast, pine and banana. Body is light but soft. Taste is of wheat and yeast. Some sweetness with a crisp dry finish. A quality hefeweizen.
