COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our golden-yellow wheat beer, with its fine-pored white foam, smells of cloves and impresses consumers with its refreshing banana flavour. It is full bodied and with a smooth yeast taste. To be enjoyed at any time (always a pleasure / enjoyment), goes excellently with fish and seafood, with spicy cheese and especially with the traditional Bavarian veal sausage. Brewed according to our centuries-old brewing tradition on the Weihenstephan hill.

500mL bottle. A hazy straw pour with a thin, fizzy off-white head. Lots of bananas, clove and yeast in the aroma. Carbonation is VERY high, and unfortunately detracts from the taste quite a bit. Still, quite yeasty and tangy. Lemony and wheaty with just a touch of pepper in the finish. Thin-bodied. Very crisp and refreshing.

Hazy golden orange with lots of big bubbles producing a medium sized head that receded gradually to a thin film. A yeast burst was the first impression of the aroma, with the typical banana & cloves evident, but not prominent. On tasting was where it all fell apart. The flavour was a bit bland, and the mouthfeel was quite rubbery and metallic, with too much carbonation. After looking forward to this being a fan of the hefe, I was a bit disappointed unfortunately.

Very good Hefewizen. In my opinion, its better than the Franzikaner version, but is not quite so widely available.

Bottle, at home. Light amber with large white head, almost lasting, fine lacings. Aroma moderate malty, light hoppy and yeasty (citrus, fruit, refreshing). Flavor light sweet, moderate acidic. Light to medium body, watery, lively carbonated.

UPDATED: APR 23, 2008 Typical hefe aroma of banana, bubble gum, and cloves. Taste is clean, bubbly, and slightly fruity. Mouthfeel is light and carbonation is high. The wheat comes through very clean in the finish, slightly less fruity tasting than Paulaner. Still the standard.

Nice golden color, slightly hazy. Full yeasty aroma, like a great hefeweizen, with a nice wheat beer taste. Very drinkable, and a great summer beer. Overall, about average (since I am very particular when it comes to wheat beers).

(B0ttle 50 cl) Deep golden colour and a gigantic head. Aromas of yeast and fruit. Very fresh with lots of fruit esters and a very dry finish. 240800

Pours a muddy golden colour with a thin white head. Aromas of clove, banana, pepper. The flavour, although typical hefe, was quite well done, aforementioned aromas in the taste as well as crisp carbonation. Its quite possible this isnt as good when it warms up but my sample didnt last that long. A tasty hefe for sure.
