COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our golden-yellow wheat beer, with its fine-pored white foam, smells of cloves and impresses consumers with its refreshing banana flavour. It is full bodied and with a smooth yeast taste. To be enjoyed at any time (always a pleasure / enjoyment), goes excellently with fish and seafood, with spicy cheese and especially with the traditional Bavarian veal sausage. Brewed according to our centuries-old brewing tradition on the Weihenstephan hill.

I had Franziskaner for years before I tried this beer. This one is less sweet, not as much banana. Somehow a little more sophisticated.

From May 2007 I got this in a trade with jwc215, thanks Joe! This pours from 0.5L bottle a cloudy light gold with a large head of foam that dissipates quickly but there's a few spotty islands that stay for the entire session and it has some lacing. The smell is a nice mix of wheat, yeast, and fruit, mainly apricot. The taste on first sip is very nice. I can taste good yeast and wheat flavours along with clove and some fruits...banana and apricot. There's some sourness there as well, most notable up front after a few more sips. The finish is pretty strong on the clove and I'm loving it. The body is medium as is the carbonation. Very, very drinkable. I'll have to see if I can pick some up the next time I get to Colorado. Yeah, it's so worth seeking out. Bottom line: This stuff is *great*! Best Hefe Weizen I've ever had!
