COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our dark wheat beer is impressive with its creamy white foam. A fruity-fresh sweetness and hints of mature bananas harmonise with delicious flavours of roasted malt, sparkling and full-bodied with a light caramel taste on the first sip. An excellent accompaniment from hearty meals and game to chocolate and nut desserts. Brewed according to our centuries-old brewing tradition on the Weihenstephan hill.

Great "Bananas Foster" aroma to this beer. Rich yeasty flavor. Hints of baking spices on the mid-palate and finish.

Pours brown and cloudy with a thick white head. Aroma is malty, banana, and spicy. Very nice sparkling taste that has hints of malt and spices in it. Very nice and easy to drink.

Pours a murky cider-like brown with a couple fingers of off white head. Aroma is bananna bread with tiny hints of clove, smells great! Taste is wheaty and sweet, with less of the spices in the flavor than the aroma, but still pretty nice.

Very nice dunkel. This beer is delicate, sweeter than its lighter counterpart with a slightly sweeter and nuances of sour, finish. Very sessionable.

UPDATED: JAN 28, 2008 Frothy head, misty amber, looks superb, aroma sweet even though grainy wheat smells.Cooking has produced a pleasant sweetness.Flavour full wheat, malty, tangy finish is sweet and toasted dry flavour,I was a little critical when I first rated this beer, that it was nauseating, well second time round things(tastes- buds ) have improved,it is a fair and good beer.

16.9oz bottle- pours a reddish copper color. light off white head. Aroma of malts. Light, crisp and clean tasting. Very easy to drink and could have a few of these fairly easily. A good Dunkleweizen overall.

Bottle. Poured to a dark cloudy tea color, medium to dark amber, with a light fluffy tan head with little fizz. Aroma: sweet, wheaty, pear, & light honey. Medium body & light sryupy consistency. Clean and crisp. Quick beginning with little flavor. Medium middle with lively flavors of wheat, barely, hops and fizz. Quick aftertaste that does not linger. Lots of wheat flavor. Balanced & mild not over powering.

Pours a clear amber/copper with a white head. Lots of malt and nuts on the nose. Taste is a dry sweetness with a nutty finish. Not bad.

The bottle looks a little bit boring. But the beer is everything else than boring. Looks great in the glass. Tastes very fresh, zippy, modest malty - really a good beer from the oldest brewery of the world!

Not as pleasing as the helles-weiss. Soft caramel sweetness and a mid-palate metallic transition to a sharp wheat finish. Phenols and cloves in the aroma. Head did not last.
