COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our dark wheat beer is impressive with its creamy white foam. A fruity-fresh sweetness and hints of mature bananas harmonise with delicious flavours of roasted malt, sparkling and full-bodied with a light caramel taste on the first sip. An excellent accompaniment from hearty meals and game to chocolate and nut desserts. Brewed according to our centuries-old brewing tradition on the Weihenstephan hill.

A bit lighter in flavor and palate then I expected but still a enjoyable beer. Good color and sustained head. The malts were a bit sweet on the sweet side. I would drink this again.

Aroma: Cereals and toasted notes. Appearance: Dark ambar color with cloudy liquid and white head. Taste: Medium bitter. Palate: Medium body with oily texture and average carbonation. Bitter toasted finish. Overall: Easy to drink but very filling and goes good with soft and hard cheese.

Deep hazy caramel chestnut colour with a large creamy head. Full, yeasty malty aroma with caramel and spices, banana. Bready, yeasty, plenty of clove in this one--creamy mouthfeel. Great memories of drinking this with my brother James.

Bottle from Geers. Hazy dark amber/brown colour, lots of creamy foam. Nose of banana, spices. Taste is light citrus, malty, banana sweetness, some caramel. Well balanced. Nice dunkelweizen.

Yes, it’s true that it has a nice head of creamy white foam, pouring rather cloudy, and first taste is includes banana-caramel notes. But with a "hearty meal" it did not work so well for me, as it just seemed too sweet. Next time, I’ll try with chocolate or dessert.
