fdomig (996) - München, GERMANY - JUN 10, 2017
500ml bottle at BBQ in Gerlingen. Aroma is light yeast and slightly banana. Appearance is cloudy yellow to orange with a stiff white foam. Taste light sweet. Good.

sjogro (3918) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - APR 18, 2017
Bottle shared at home. Hazy golden amber. Sweet malts, grain, banana yeast. Light sweet and bitter. Medium body, creamy and malty feel but also a bit watery. Nice for the light abv.

Maakun (5337) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - APR 18, 2017
Bottle shared thanks to sjogro. Hazy orange golden with off white head. Light banana and cloves, soft dry malts, mineral, light bread, apricots, chalk. Light sweet and under medium bitter. Quite light bodied. Not bad for a low alcohol beer.

peponi (1842) - Hannover, GERMANY - JUL 31, 2016
Aroma: wort, cloves. Appearance: hazy golden color and white head. Taste: cloves, weak banana notes, malty, yeasts, quite dry. Palate: low body and medium carbonation. Overall: Decent beer, even as low-alcohol.

SinH4 (4707) - Garching b. München, GERMANY - JUN 14, 2016
Bottle. Hazy golden-orange color with creamy white head. Aroma is citrus, a bit dusty yeasts, bananas, wheat, a bit sweet. Taste is tart, a bit sweet, more bananas and wheat. Some of these low-abv grains noticeable as well. Smooth mouthfeel, but also a more crisp carbonation. Refreshing and very good. Thirst quencher and a really good Leichte Weisse.

JaKeAFC (1121) - ITALY - SEP 16, 2015
From the godfathers of THE weizen beer now comes this light version... 50 cl bottle at the braustuberl. Looks like its bigger sister, nice cloudy orange color, big white head. Light weizen smell. Aroma of banana, yeast, mineral water. Flat taste. Heavy carbonation, light body. Not as good as the original, of course, but stil solid and quaffable. For sure a winner in the lightweights tier.

Nein, ein Klassiker wird das bier nicht werden. Aber für ein halbes ist es durchaus trinkbar. Geht sehr leicht runter, ist natürlich etwas dünn und leicht holzig. Ganz ok halt.

McTapps (6856) - Reutlingen, GERMANY - JUL 20, 2015
Bottle from Dilo in Bochum. The beer has got a hazy yellow-golden colour with a steady head and medium to thin body. Aroma of yeasta nd wheat. Taste of yeast, wheat, bread, mild fruits. Thin finish.

(bue sur place): Un nez agréable d’épices à gâteau et d’une douceur provenant de l’apparence de banane. Le corps est évidemment mince et la finale sèche mais on est loin d’un fiasco faible en alcool.

MartinT (9795) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 17, 2014
My Bottom Line:
Mild caramel and cloves rise from this Leicht Weissbier’s bubbly mouthfeel, building a refreshing though forgettable pint.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam covers the cloudy beige.
-Drinkability is high, but mostly due to the body’s dryness.
-Banana esters are surprisingly low in this version.
-Like in many German ’leicht’ or ’alkoholfrei’ brews, the nose conveys ’beer’, but the flavor profile cannot follow up. Oh well, I’m not going to get pregnant any time soon.

On tap at their restaurant in Freising.
