COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our golden-yellow wheat beer, with its fine-pored white foam, smells of cloves and impresses consumers with its refreshing banana flavour. It is full bodied and with a smooth yeast taste. To be enjoyed at any time (always a pleasure / enjoyment), goes excellently with fish and seafood, with spicy cheese and especially with the traditional Bavarian veal sausage. Brewed according to our centuries-old brewing tradition on the Weihenstephan hill.

Everthing has been said. This is the best beer the brewery makes.

I put Weihenstephaner and Paulaner in the same league as great Hefeweizens. Great on a hot summer day.

UPDATED: JUL 8, 2003 As good as any hefe on the planet. Soft, subtle, and possessed of the perfect bannana-clove flavor, this brew is unimaginably refreshing on hot days. Its good to see the progenitor of so many German beers finally get some notice in the States.

Fresh and crisp this is a beer for a hot summer day. Perhaps a little too yeasty but well done.

UPDATED: MAY 28, 2010 Hazy, bubbly. Dull tan. Lots of fluffy head. Fresh slightly fruity, kind of sticky body. The aroma is oriented towards fairly clean banana and some light spiciness. The palate is clean, somewhat dry towards the finish. This classic yeast is used all over, so the beer isnt particularly distinctive, but it is a very nice weizen.

This is a top-notch hefe, right up there with Paulaner. It has a wonderful cloudy appearance, a nice yeasty aroma, and a fine, light taste reminiscent of bananas (but only just enough). A most refreshing beer and an outstanding example of what a hefe should be.

Of all the readily-available Weissbiers (Paulaner, Franziskaner, Aventinus, etc.) Weihenstephaner Hefe Weissbier is the best! Dont ruin it with lemon.

Very good Hefe. A little thicker than the paulener and seemed to have a little more taste to boot.

This is so close to Paulaner, I think I would need to have a head to head test to decide which was best. This is a really nice hefe.
