Truly wondrous-looking brew, with a delicious smoky-amber body topped by the longest-lasting weissbier head I've seen. Aroma very sweet, orangey-lemony, not as strong as it could be but nice. Flavor super-duper malty, very sweet, very smooth. Wheaty, banana-apricot with some caramel, truly decicious with a great finish; doesn't make as much impact as Paulaner, but very impressive and deserving of its accolades. Impressive head, doesn't last long though. Orange/brown, cloudy. Spicy yeasty banana aroma. Sweet-ish wheaty flavour, there's also some alcohol-bitterness in the back of the mouth. A good example of the style. eczematic (1325) - Adelaide, AUSTRALIA - AUG 23, 2002
UPDATED: NOV 17, 2004 yawn banana cloves etc. nicely malty, but simple and sweet in the finish. very smooth, drinkable but a bit predictable - bit more zing would be good. i think i’m reallly really getting bored with weizens actually.

Fizzy fermented and grainy aroma. Moderately sour with back of the mouth taste. Refreshing and sour in a pleasant way. Ringo (963) - Loveland, Colorado, USA - AUG 14, 2002
Just as the description reads "what makes this beer so special is the fullness and softness totally without the "edginess" sometimes found in Wheat Beers." That is basically what I was going to write in my review! jsquire (4559) - St. Marys, Ohio, USA - AUG 5, 2002
After drinking a decent American try at a German wheat, this was a nice way to recalibrate just how distinctive this style can be. Great cloudy beer with big head and big spicy nose. Very complex interplay among the malts, hops and yeast to create a very spicy mix with plenty of sweetness to balance it out. An excellent summer drink, and a good German wheat, although I still say the Pschorr-Brau is better. rauchbier (3922) - Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - AUG 5, 2002
The king of weissbiers, hazy orange gold colour, excellent rocky head with good condition and lace. Big banana/esters/phenolic nose, more sweet banana in the mouth with hints of clove and a sweet phenolic finish. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - AUG 1, 2002
Nice sweet wheat aroma, slightly spicy, and wonderful balanced sweet wheat flavor. Nice and light, good easy summertime drinking.
