COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Korbinian, the full-bodied, dark Doppelbock with light brown foam, wins beer-lovers over with a balance of fruity hints of plums and figs, a dark malt aroma - reminiscent of toffee, nuts and chocolate. Its roasted flavour goes well with smoked meat and fish as well as venison and poultry. Brewed according to our centuries-old brewing tradition on the Weihenstephan hill.

50 cL bottle. Pours beautiful dark amber, visible, with a dense off-white head. Dried fruity and dark roasted malt aroma. Flavour is smooth chocolate flavoured malty with a slight note of dried fruit and a mild woody note. The barley notes keep lingering into the far finish and provide some warmth with the alcohol. Mild bitterness in the far finish.

UPDATED: OCT 14, 2005 (Bottle 50 cl) The word "Bock" doesnt appear anywhere on the label on this beer from the brewery said to be the oldest in the world - but clearly, thats what it is. Dark and heavy with lots of malts and sweetness, and not really any bitterness. Pleasant and quite characteristic. 301003.

Sampled draught at Thembi, Maastricht.
Mahogany with brief beige head. Neutral nose. Sweet and malty with syrupy mouthfeel and loads of cramell and toffee in the finish. A solid and warming bock, but not one that offers that little extra.
