COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Korbinian, the full-bodied, dark Doppelbock with light brown foam, wins beer-lovers over with a balance of fruity hints of plums and figs, a dark malt aroma - reminiscent of toffee, nuts and chocolate. Its roasted flavour goes well with smoked meat and fish as well as venison and poultry. Brewed according to our centuries-old brewing tradition on the Weihenstephan hill.

500ml Bottle - Dark brown with red tinges and a foamy head. Raisins, marzipan and plums in the aroma. Rich and fruity taste with plums, dates, raisins and some notes of fruitcake. In spite of its richness it is still relatively easy to drink.

Bottle @ Hopaholic. Pours deep mahogany with thick but quickly disappearing head. Nose is grainy and boozy with honey and fuits in it. Taste is quite similar, maybe a bit less complex and a tad too sweet. Closes with long lasting sweet finish, has average carbo and medium to heavy body. Nice one.

Bottle from Kenny Road Market: dark brown-black pour, thin light tan ring. aroma of sweet dark breads, caramel, dark fruit. tastes are along those lines with faint coffee and chocolate. nicely balanced with herbal/earthy light hops.

From a 50 cl bottle. Pours a clear mahogany with an off white head. Aroma of toffee and figs. Moderately sweet with some bitter roast to the finish.

Scipio (1215) - Palatine, Illinois, USA - OCT 1, 2017
Pours a deep brown with a full, lingering beige head. The aroma consists of heavy raisin and caramel, some bread, licorice, plum, and some light earthiness as well. This one is sweet, but its an easy sweet. Subtly bitter, its very dry which snuck up on me as I was drinking this. The main flavors are plum, raisin, and caramel. Strong nuttiness is found, along with fig and bread, and minor chocolate. Nutty raisin finish, Medium to full in body and chewy in texture. Solid, complex, and well balanced overall, this one should be easy for most to enjoy.

Ładnie się prezentuje kolor ciemny, lekko beżowa piana. W aromacie lekkie nuty palone, podobnie w smaku, w którym obok nut palonych mamy posmak chleba, karmelu. Całość dość wytrawna

Beautiful deep red pour with huge creamy tan head. Sweet and malty. Very drinkable. An excellent beer but not quite robust enough for me. Definitely not lacking in character but I wanted more complexity and a bit more bitterness. Wife loved it ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
