COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Korbinian, the full-bodied, dark Doppelbock with light brown foam, wins beer-lovers over with a balance of fruity hints of plums and figs, a dark malt aroma - reminiscent of toffee, nuts and chocolate. Its roasted flavour goes well with smoked meat and fish as well as venison and poultry. Brewed according to our centuries-old brewing tradition on the Weihenstephan hill.

This beer is very malt forward with hops playing a relatively small part. Color is that of a pretty dark brown ale. Flavor is potent with a somewhat syrupy quality and a bit of caramel. Nose is mostly from the malt aspect of the beer with some noble hopping showing through. Syrupy character of dopplebocks often put me off, but this one is more subdued and is a good example of the style.

First tasted in Berlin, Weihenstephaner beer hall. Excellent service, me and my wife had some of the best dining experience here! The lady who serve us offered the best table service around town. Appearance: Dark hazy brown with a finger of brown bubbly head Aroma: Roasted malt, caramel, dark chocolate, some coffee, roasted nuts, banana, licorice, and little alcohol. This gonna be good, really good! Taste: First thing (when the beer is fresh), Sarsi! When your old time favorite soft drink meet beer! This beer is medium full bodied, start with sizzle medium-strong carbonation.and thick body. Full of roasted malt, medium sweetness of dried plum, some banana of course, dark dark chocolate, some espresso, and little bits of nuts. Yes it is this complex! Oh and so little alcohol taste! Aftertaste: Medium. Arr I really wish it could be longer as the sweetness of plums, some sourness of roasted malt little dryness of banana of the aftertaste is just so so good! For me this maybe one of the best beer from my favorite brewery! And now i'm waiting for the 3 years bottle aged Korbinian. Tick tok baby~~

Robust malt and fruity aroma. Dark amber color with a large white head. Sweet beginning that gets stronger in the finish with a slight bitter ending.

Very dark beer. Strong dark beer taste. Best served as the temps as on bottle, to cold taste like black coffee, to hot just not very appealing. Don’t taste the alcohol. It’s not a bad beer to try as a single but I would buy in bulk. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle, six months before bbd. Pours deep dark chestnut, with a big creamy, off white head settling at two finger thickness. Aroma is dark roasted malts with bread, chocolate and leather, as well as some dark sugars, prunes and dark fruits. Creamy body, with very soft carbonation. Flavour is roasted malts with bread, chocolate and leather, as well as wooden notes and dark fruity notes. Very quaffable and balanced.

Pint bottle poured at home. Warm fruity nose molasses sugar pours mahogany with a creamy natural leather head with tight bubbles. Thick mouthfeel that has an almost Turkish candy type taste rounded out by spicy bitter hop. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
