COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In our golden-yellow crystal-clear wheat beer the fresh citrus flavour harmonises very well with spicy banana notes. The fine sparkling gives it a tangy and animated appearance. Throughout summer and winter, its a prickling experience. It goes well with fish, seafood, white meat or it can be enjoyed as an aperitif. Brewed according to our centuries-old brewing tradition on the Weihenstephan hill.

Sparkling clear body w. loads of visibible carbonation. Big fluffy white head. Nose is wheaty & yeasty, some noticable sweet malt, oranges & clove. Flavor is light clove, yeast, lemon, orange, wheat, light toasted malt. A bit sweeter than I expected.

UPDATED: OCT 20, 2009 Bottle. This pours very light and clear yellow. The only thing that is visually appealing is the large, aggressive white head. The aroma is very, very bready. It smells like dinner rolls with a hint of banana. There is thin banana in the body with a taste of crackers. The finish lingers on the sweet, yeasty notes and is quite crisp and clean. The body is very active in the mouth, sparkling quite intensely. Theres a dry mineral water feel about this. This is not bad, but man, its so thin. I would probably only want to drink this with a meal or something else to entertain my palate.

Bottle. I felt like I should revisit this one as its been so long since Ive had a kristall weizen at all. Well, this is pretty much exactly how I remember. It is light gold with lots of carbonation and a flavor that is remarkably similar to their hefeweizen, just watered down. Imagine taking their hefe and cutting it with seltzer water. This is pretty much that.

bottle from asda, poured a very light yellow with a fluffy white head but no lacing down the glass, strong banana aroma, quite refreshing even to get a whiff of. straight away very dry in the mouth, not bitter dry but a zing kind of dry, you can almost chew on the yeast in this beer, it works as an excellent thirst quencher, its been a warm day here and maybe it would have tasted even better in the garden earlier but still a very nice drink all the same

UPDATED: APR 1, 2009 Outrageous banana perfume and tingling effervescence. Pronounced flavours of apple and banana. Maybe a few vinous notes as you drain the vase. Snow-white head, with some circles of froth. Sparkling, fragrant and assertively fruity. Theyve been brewing beers like this for 966 years, and it shows. If theres a better Weissbier, Im still looking for it. (948417/4.2) UPDATE: Bottle with Octo at The Penguin. Pleasant peppery banana aroma with a pilsy mineral softness and sweetcorn. The usual banana and clove effervescence, but less so. Quite a shock of hops in a dry finish for the style. Nice beer, but punching way above its weight in my top 10 Im afraid.

UPDATED: MAY 12, 2007 I decided to give this beer another go, considering the last time I had it, it was the first beer after one of the worst bouts of sickness Ive ever had. Anyway pours more gold than yellow, with a tall foamy white head. Aroma is spicy yeast, banana, clove, hay, and dough. Flvaor has all the elements of a very nice hefeweizen, just toned down a notch. After a day spent clearing out my apartment, this beer goes down very nice.

50 cl bottle, from BevMo LaJolla. Pours clear light yellow with a large, fjluffy white head. Fruity and yeasty aroma, ripe summer fruits with hints of banana and floral hops noticible as well. Flavor is pretty good, but a little unbalanced to the floral hops for my taste, again fruity, a bit of spice from the yeast and a tart, slightly metallic hop finish. Light body and crisp carbonation. I have to say I prefer my weissbier unfiltered. Not bad, but lacking in the full character of a non-filtered weiss.

Bottled. Pours a clear pale amber with a large, fluffy, but diminishing white head. The aroma is a bit indistinct, but some cloves and banana are present. The body is light with fairly powerful carbonation. The taste is hugely dominated by cloves, but has some a bit of fruit and bread. Crisp spiced banana finish.

PilsnerPeter (3045) - Flushing, New York, USA - AUG 4, 2006
This poured clear pale golden, with a collapsing white head. The aroma was yeasty. Has a nice mouthfeel and a crisp flavor of yeast, banana, and a bubblegum sweetness on the palate. Enjoyable, yet kristall weiss beers dont have as many flavors as original weissbiers, which are cloudy. Maybe the filtering removes some of the other flavor aspects.

ABUSEDGOAT (2659) - California, USA - JUL 29, 2006
Clear golden body with a huge head and decent lacing. Aroma is bananas, bread, some clovey notes and a hint of grass. Flavor is like drinking a liquid banana. But with a well balanced beer in the background. Hella better than the Erdinger one I had a few days ago. Very enjoyable for what it is.

Sparkling clear goden pour supporting a tall fluffy white head. Banana, clove, hops and summer garden aroma and a classic but toned down hefe flavor profile of the same (cloves, banana). Crisp hoppy finish. Good looking and refreshing.
