A good beer takes its time. The long storage makes our yellow bright lager, Original, a flavourful beer enjoyed with fine pored, white foam. With a mild hoppy note and its pleasant fresh spicy taste, it goes very well with salads, poultry, stews or with a hearty snack. Brewed according to our centuries-old brewing tradition on the Weihenstephan hill.

Bottle. Footed lager. Ultra light gold pour is accented by a heavy bouquet of noble hops and doughy malt. The flavor is that of sweet bread, dough with a grassy/grain presence and a bitter dry finish. Thin mouth feel, but overall decent.

Pale golden color with a fully lasting white head. Sweet malt aroma with a sort of cereal flavor. Malty flavor with a little hop in there. Smooth with a dry finish. Its a simple beer.

Very pale yellow pour with almost no head. Slightly bitter aftertaste and hop flavor. Light flavor, low carbonation. Pretty good, but a little watered down.

Bottle, pale yellow w/largish head. For some reason not as good as i had remembered it. Slightly skunky so maybe it was the bottle.

UPDATED: JUN 4, 2007 Bottle. Very cold tasting...a sort of rich malty flavour, but not heavy in the slightest. There is only a little sweetness and only a little sourness, and a fair dose of bitterness, more than is usual for this style, and I like that. The bitterness has a metallic quality to it but it is not unpleasant. I normally am not a fan of the more "mild" beers but evidently, Germans have a much different standard for "mild", one that I can live with. This is a good beer and I would always be glad to drink it.

Bottle. A slightly pale yellow with a small white head that laces a touch. Aroma is sweet and malty with a citric bitter edge to it. Slightly high carbonation. Sweet and slightly herbal flavour. Nice.

A light aroma, maybe grassy hop. Light brassy gold color with a substantial white head. A hint of lemon as the glass approaches the lips. Medium body, low carbonation, something of a grassy impact. Arguably hop. Not much malt, and the finish is a grassy bitter. Not that bitter either. More hop than Bud, but not so much as a pilsener. Pleasant. But why?

Rated 4/28/06: Pour is a pale straw yellow with a tiny film on top and little to no lacing. Aroma is weak and a bit grassy. Mouthfeel is thin and sticky. Flavor is average at best but leaning more towards bland. Overall this beer is a major bummer considering their wheat beers are much better than this offering. Next time I will pass.

Pours very clear yellow with little head that disappears. Has some corn, grass, a bit of spice and a little hop bite. Started out ok, but off flavors come out as it warmed.
