COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A good beer takes its time. The long storage makes our yellow bright lager, “Original”, a flavourful beer enjoyed with fine pored, white foam. With a mild hoppy note and its pleasant fresh spicy taste, it goes very well with salads, poultry, stews or with a hearty snack. Brewed according to our centuries-old brewing tradition on the Weihenstephan hill.

Bottle, a light gold with plenty of carbonation but no head. The aroma is all grassy hops and grainy malt. A very dry palate, but clean. The grainy malt flavour comes through more and more through the swallow. Not my type of drop, but it is clean.

(Draught at Weihenstephan Bräu-Stüberl) Tried as "Original Hell". Clear yellow color, fluffy white head. MAlty, hoppy and fruity scent. Malty and herbal taste. Spritzy mouthfeel, medium bitterness.

Bottle. Golden coloured with a decent white head. Aroma of hay, sweet malt and floral hops. Flavour started sweet with some lemon before a long, bitter finish. Good.

From bottle poured slightly hazy light amber color with a fair amount of head. Very weak water taste, with not much of a finish.

Smells of honey, hay, and oats. Pours a cloudy yellow with a green hue. Nice head that falls fast. tastes of bitter lime peel and honey. Doesn’t seem to have any body too it. The finish fades quickly but the honey lingers a bit. Very watery.

Bottle. Okay beer, good on a hot day. kind of a odd taste, not bad, just odd.

jrob21 (3810) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - JUL 15, 2007
Pale golden color with minimal white head. Lots of bitter flavors with some citrus in there. Slightly citrusy and floral nose. It’s a lager so don’t expect the world. As far as lager’s go though this one is top notch even if it is a thin, light bodied beer.

Hum. Definely golden in color. Lots of head, with a bit of effervescence. Aromas are, um, papery, weird. Some lemon and banana, too, as well as the requisite spiciness. Grain and water definitely dominate the flavor and palate of this beer. Very mild. Kudos for preserving the traditions of historical beermaking, but the Hefe is clearly the winner in the Weihenstephaner line.

Simple and satisfying. A great "lawnmower beer" of transitional beer for your friends that like Natural Light. Golden color, excellent head and lacing. No real aroma, could be more bitter.
