A good beer takes its time. The long storage makes our yellow bright lager, “Original”, a flavourful beer enjoyed with fine pored, white foam. With a mild hoppy note and its pleasant fresh spicy taste, it goes very well with salads, poultry, stews or with a hearty snack. Brewed according to our centuries-old brewing tradition on the Weihenstephan hill.

Bottled (from beerangel.de). Golden colour with small white bubbly head. Aroma is bready and grassy along with some slight notes of parfume. Flavour is grass, saltwater, some sweet malts and the finish is quite hayish. Refreshing, but not that exciting.

(Bottle 50 cl) Beautiful pale golden with a very small head. Malty nose, malty flavour with some underlying sweetness. Discreet but far from absent hops in the finish. Very typical Helles. 100605

Bamberg Bash, Day 1. Train bottle swig. Lightly hazy pale gold beer. Tidy ivory coloured head. Palate is light and softish and semi dry. Smooth dry pale malt. Slight lemon tang provides interest. Light spice before a light and semi dry finish. A tasty little number.

Leighton (21092) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 20, 2014
Bottle on the train from Freising to Regensburg, Bamberg post Christmas jolly day 1. Pours clear yellow with a foamy, white head. Decent helles, some crispy cereal, light grass, hay, dry pale bread. Light bodied with average carbonation. Moderate dryness to finish, somewhat crisp, a bit of grainy cereal. Good one.

Draught at Weihenstephaner Bräustüberl, as Original Hell
Pale blond color with compact head, persistent. Mild but nice aroma of malt. The mouthfeel is light, it has a light flavor of malt, nice nevertheless, although missing some crispness, and light paper feeling; correct bitterness; the final is dry.
Simple, although it has some interesting points. Better the aroma than the final.
