A good beer takes its time. The long storage makes our yellow bright lager, “Original”, a flavourful beer enjoyed with fine pored, white foam. With a mild hoppy note and its pleasant fresh spicy taste, it goes very well with salads, poultry, stews or with a hearty snack. Brewed according to our centuries-old brewing tradition on the Weihenstephan hill.

Bottle: Pale golden colour ,little head. aroma of sweet hay malt, initial sweet malt taste rounded off with bitter hop taste . A bit different to your average larger.

From the 550 ml. bottle marked 5077-12:06:49. It pours a bright yellow color with a modest foamy white head that lingers and laces as it fades. Sunlight clarity. Aroma of dough, white bread, brown sugar, sweet malts, grass, and lemon zest. Desirable to drink. The body is light to medium but closer to the latter and smooth. It is a very tasty beer with a sweet breadiness and a clean, crisp, and mildly hopped finale. Easy to drink.

UPDATED: NOV 1, 2017 On tap at Tap’d, PA hotel. Translucent straw yellow with thin head that laced a bit. Malt aroma with a hint of bubble gum. Smooth taste and mild finish with a touch of spice.

Awesome German beer. A little hops to offset the malt, but not so much as to make it garbage (like so many USA "crafties). They have been making this for over a 1,000 years, it looks like they know what they are doing. Wonderful. Nice site, so glad to see a site interested in beer reviews and not all the "fruits and nuts" found with a lot of beer drinkers today (as is found on some sites that claim to be your "advocate") who seem to only care that the beer has 150 other odd items added to the beer to make it "taste better". No thanks. May I have an actual beer and not some mix of spices and pine branches???

Aroma is very malty. Taste is a very grainy/grassy malt. Overall light and drinkable but not super enjoyable.

From Jun 2006 Poured from 12oz bottle a light gold with a large head of foam that dissipated fairly slowly leaving a solid layer with lots of lacing. The smell is nice...i detect earthyness, sweet malt and grain and some definite citrus. The taste has a real good malt punch with plenty of graininess and a nice, citrus lemon presence that makes for an awesome balance. Yumm...it's very tasty and if I could get it locally, I sure as heck would! ;^) Bottom line: This is *superb* Lager that deserves your attention!

Butelka 0,5l pite w domu. Kolor złoty, klarowne, piękna piana osiadająca na szkle. Aromat słodowy z nutami chmielu. W smaku słodkawe, lekko trawiaste, dobre nagazowanie , goryczka średnia, bardzo dobre piwo.

Pale golden color, medium white head. Malt, grass, smooth body, light sour, mild hops. Not coo complex flavour, but refreshing and very balanced, perfect for everyday beer.
