COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A good beer takes its time. The long storage makes our yellow bright lager, “Original”, a flavourful beer enjoyed with fine pored, white foam. With a mild hoppy note and its pleasant fresh spicy taste, it goes very well with salads, poultry, stews or with a hearty snack. Brewed according to our centuries-old brewing tradition on the Weihenstephan hill.

1 pint, 0.9 fl. oz. bottle. AROMA: Scents of sour citrus, dough, grass. APPEARANCE: Pours a clear golden yellow, with a minimal tight, white head that dissipates quickly. TASTE: Lightly sweet and tangy with flavors of honey, banana, and hay. PALATE: Full-bodied with a thick texture and average carbonation. The finish is slightly astringent with a bit of a metallic tang. OVERALL: Surprisingly good. A nice balance of sweetness and tang.

Scipio (1311) - Palatine, Illinois, USA - FEB 3, 2018
Pours a clear, thin golden with a medium white head that quickly fades. The aroma is very bready, slightly floral and grainy, with light hay and light spice. The taste is grassy while still retaining the easy floral elements from the nose. I get corn, bread, spices, mild honey and yeast, and some grain. The aftertaste is a very short yeast. Mildly bitter. Light in body and crisp in texture. Despite not really being delicious or refreshing, this one goes down remarkably well. But there isn't anything special to be found here.

BlackHaddock (8090) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - JAN 4, 2018
330 ml bottle from Hi-Time Wine Cellars, Costa Mesa, California. As I said on my Pilsner rating, it seems strange that I have to come all the way out to the Californian coast to find a Bavarian beer after so many trips to that part of Germany over the years. Just like the Pilsner before it, I poured the beer into a Lowenbrau (Munchen) stemmed tulip on 4th Jan 2018, sat in the afternoon sun at my daughters place. Clean golden pour, clear and bright, white crown on top. Much preferred this to the Pilsner I had before this. Just seems more balanced, more wholesome and flavoursome. Light on the hops, the pale malts rule the nose and taste with the hops keeping the sweetness in check. Liked it.

Clear golden appearance - nice carbonation. Yeasty mild banana / bubblegum aroma . Subtle foretaste, with a balanced mild bitter sweet aftertaste. Nice malt taste. Well made beer - refreshing, clean taste. Good example of a Helles

I had this at Global Brew. Pours gold with a white head. Taste mildly sweet, crisp, superior lager. I thought this was very good. I would definitely drink this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Smells like traditional beer, smells like a traditional beer. Taste like a good German beer unlike most normal American beers. It taste extremely smooth for the higher alcohol content. doesn’t taste like it has a high alcohol content that it does. It will sneak up on you. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

kraddel (9429) - Antwerp, BELGIUM - DEC 19, 2017
Pours very clear, light blonde. Small white head, much lacing. Smell is bit malty, not super intense. Taste is full, rather thick body for a lager, bit sweet, crisp malts, some minor hoppy notes. Creamy, malty ending

puboflyons (3562) - Allenstown, New Hampshire, USA - NOV 14, 2017
From the 550 ml. bottle marked 5077-12:06:49. It pours a bright yellow color with a modest foamy white head that lingers and laces as it fades. Sunlight clarity. Aroma of dough, white bread, brown sugar, sweet malts, grass, and lemon zest. Desirable to drink. The body is light to medium but closer to the latter and smooth. It is a very tasty beer with a sweet breadiness and a clean, crisp, and mildly hopped finale. Easy to drink.
