Golden-yellow and bright, with 32 bitter units and quite hoppy compared to most of the other Pilsners our Weihenstephaner Pilsner comes up with a distinctive aroma of hops with a pleasant bitterness. This combination provides a balanced mix and guarantees great enjoyment. Brewed according to our centuries-old brewing tradition on the Weihenstephan hill.

Reviewed 12/23/2012. 11.2 oz bottle into a pilsner glass. A: Pours a medium straw color with great clarity. The head is a two finger white color with nice retention. The head retains more strongly away from the glass, creating a ’floater’...usually a sign of a hoppy beer. Intrigued! S: Very well hopped, which I always like. Tons of grassy, zesty noble hops overpower - in a good way - the pale malts. T: Light malt sweetness gives way to pure grassy hop goodness. Simple, but it works here. The only real complaint I have is that the finish isn’t quite as balanced as I like. As such, it’s a bit less drinkable than it could be. Having said that, it grows on me. M: The carbonation grants this a coarse, tingly sensation on the palate. It’s not entirely bone dry on the finish, either. If anything, it’s more a pils to savor, rather than one to chug. O: I feel that pilsners - when they’re done well - provide a great example of simple refreshment in lieu of water. This is one I feel that stacks up nicely. It strikes a middle ground between the intensity of Prima Pils and the delicacy of Pilsner Urquell.

Bottle from Gourmeo24. Clear golden colour, white foam. Best Before Jan 2018. Skunky, wet dog, sweet malts, oxidized. Very bad pilsener, something went wrong?

Bottle, one month before bbd. Pours clear, pale yellow, with a big creamy head. Aroma is zesty herbal hops, with grassy and citrusy notes, as well as malts with cereals and toffee. Creamy body, with soft to average carbonation. Flavour is crisp, zesty hops, with herbs, floral and citrusy notes, as well as malts with cereals and toffee.

Aroma, grass, bread, earthy. Pale bright polished gold with small rising bubbles to a thick creamy white head, lacing down the side of the glass. Gorgeous looking. Smooth, substantial feel. Bready malts and pils yeast dominate the initial taste, balanced with bittering in the middle and into the dry finish (light bittering by American craft standards, but just right for a German pils).

Shared bottle at RB/HD at Tau 15.06.17. Clear golden. Diminishing white head. Aroma of grass, succade, wet cardboard and flowers. Similar taste, with medium bitterness. Good drinkability.

Litt sødme i avslutningen.

500 ml bottle, from Alko Karigasniemi. ABV is 5.1%. Pale golden colour, moderate white head. Moderate aroma of floral hops. The flavour is sweeter than expected, with fairly distinct bittering hops.

vinivini (2392) - Gomel, BELARUS - JUN 11, 2017
Bottle. Brilliant golden effervescent beer with huge white rocky head. Perfect retention. Spicy, peppery hoppy nose. Different. Additional pale malts. Light to medium body. Cleanest pilsner malts start the taste. Very crisp. Light spicy bitterness on medium long finish. Nice hops on aftertaste. A model Bavarian Pilsner that brings joy sip by sip.

FROTHINGSLOSH (7796) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 21, 2017
Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bright yellow color with a huge soapy foamy yellow-white head that lingered and left minimal lacing. The aroma was grassy, perfumey and crisp. The flavor was grassy and grainy with a bit of grape. Medium length finish. Medium body. Meh
