bottle, shared at a bar, poured a light brown more copper colour with a tanned head. nose is very sweet, burned caramel, caramel malts, oxidized fruits, yeast, citrus, and alcohol notes. taste is strong alcohol mess, and a big amount of sweet malts. what a mess. can’t belive this came out of the great weihenstephan brewery. also way to overpriced for the quality you get. bad

2010 Vintage: Pours a semi-opaque bronze with a thick white head that leaves lots of lacing. Nose is slightly citrus. Palate is medium body. Taste is citrus, dry with no mal. Although, there was a very slight maltiness upon first taste that disappears on subsequent pourings. This bottle was stored for five years as a champagne, i.e. on its side at cellar temperature. No oxidation, no off flavors. Served in a pilsner glass. This beer has changed since it was released. There is now sediment and a haze. No banana nor maltiness remain making it what it was originally designed to be: "The Champagne of Bottled Beer". See below for first review.
Pours a thick white head that slowly dissipates leaving sheet lacing that clings to the glass, a crystal rimless wine glass. The bubbles are champagne-like - tiny bubbles (to the tune of the song) that remain throughout the glass. The color is translucent slightly burnished brass matching the label. A slight swirl opens up the nose revealing malt and citrus. The taste is an attenuated malty sweetness with a hint of banana in a medium body followed by a dry finish. BB May 2014. Huge gusher, beautiful copper color with a head that goes down quickly. Aroma is oxidized, booze, candied sugar. Botella de 75 cl tomada en varias ocasiones la última en el Lupulo en mayo 2011. (r619). Lote 07..10..10 hasta 07..10..11 sabores alcohólicos e intensos con cuerpo algo pastoso. Buena.
