Dark copper with fizzy, off-white head. Rye bready nose, roasted malts, little coffee and cocoa. Flavor is rusty malts, sweetish rye bread, little hop bitterness. Medium bodied, average carbonation. An OK dunkel, not that exciting. Christian (13670) - Odense, DENMARK - JUN 20, 2008
Nice copper brown colour with a disappearing off-white head. Strong malty grain and bread aroma, with maybe just a hint of German hops. Intense and clean malty flavour medium dry and filled with toasted munich character. alexen84 (31) - AUSTRALIA - JUN 1, 2008

50cl bottle: Pours dark brown with a creamy white lasting head. Aroma is sooo classic dunkel-like. Lots of caramel/toffee & breadish. Light roasted with hints of sugar. Medium bodied - good mouthfeel. Extremely drinkable dunkel. TrefwoordPunk (1206) - Leiden, NETHERLANDS - APR 29, 2008
Bottle 50 cl. Pours a dark brown with a small head and a malty aroma. The taste is a bit sourish, with malts, dark chocolate (only the bitterness, not the sweetness) and some not-that-sweet fruits. This isn’t a bad beer, but weihenstephaner can do much better villevav (463) - FINLAND - APR 23, 2008
UPDATED: JUL 7, 2008 Aroma: caramel, bread . Appearance: brown, clear. Medium body, lively. A very nice dunkel. I wonder if this beer is actually the same beer as Hofbrau München Dunkel, because it is actually brewed by HB. MBison (548) - Southern Highlands, AUSTRALIA - APR 13, 2008
Bottle (500ml). Poured mahogany with a decent sized; rocky, off-white head which was average lasting. Aroma had strong notes of black currents and tart blackberries with some sweet toffee malts hiding beneath as well as some cranberries somewhere in the mix. Flavor was a light bitterness with sweet toffee malts, sultana’s, blackberries and a dry nutty finish. Light bodied with medium carbonation, a quite watery texture and a ok finish.
