COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our reddish brown dark lager “Tradition” with its mild aroma of hops smells like roasted malt and impresses with its sweet caramel flavor which is followed by a slight bitterness. Goes well with hearty dishes, such as roasts, poultry and game. Brewed according to our centuries-old brewing tradition on the Weihenstephan hill.

Bottle, beers of Europe. Pours a deep reddy mahogany colour. Sweet bready malt aroma, red berry flavours, fizzy palate, with a caramel and brown sugar. I think it gets better with progress, perhaps could do with a bit more body but otherwise another good beer from a fine brewery.

Draughts @ Weihenstephaner Bierkeller, Berlin. Red copper colour, with white head. Not a heavy nose. Taste is hazelnut, caramels and a fairly dry and bitter finish. Normally not a fan of Dunkels, but like this one. Good session beer.

Poured a murky brown with a large, frothy tan head. Aroma of sweet, rich, fruity malt. Quite a watery mouthfeel, flavour of red fruit and berry, very little aftertaste.
