COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our reddish brown dark lager “Tradition” with its mild aroma of hops smells like roasted malt and impresses with its sweet caramel flavor which is followed by a slight bitterness. Goes well with hearty dishes, such as roasts, poultry and game. Brewed according to our centuries-old brewing tradition on the Weihenstephan hill.

Very easy drinking for the style. Nicely balanced and a nice malty finish. Could be a good beer to introduce new drinkers to that style.

Bottle. Clear darker copper in color with an off-white head. Dark bready and malty notes in aroma. Bready malty in taste, also not too sweet which is good. Quite bitter as well, nice. Tasty and has got a good drinkability. Excellent brew.

UPDATED: JUN 26, 2007 Muito boa cerveja da Stephani. Coloração vinho escuro; espuma densa e presente, coloração ambar. Cheiro gostoso, frutado e adocicado. Ceveja encorpada. Grãos torrados no sabor na medida certa. Levemente adocicada (caramelo) Retrogosto amargo. Melhor que a de trigo. Cerveja de baixa fermentação. Refrescante.

UPDATED: JUL 7, 2008 Aroma: caramel, bread . Appearance: brown, clear. Medium body, lively. A very nice dunkel. I wonder if this beer is actually the same beer as Hofbrau München Dunkel, because it is actually brewed by HB.

Bottle - Clear light brown colour, medium frothy beige head, good retention and lacing. Mild chocolate and coffee aroma with some breadcrust and caramel notes. Taste is mildly sweet with caramel and breadcrust, some fine fruitiness and floral hops. Light body, soft carbonation, tender mouthfeel. Really nice, classic german dunkel.

It pours brown red, medium head (or low for a Weihenstephaner), mild sweet roast aroma. The taste reminds me of a black beer, not as sweet as other dunkels I’ve had, very easy to drink.
