COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our light-coloured, spicy single-bock, Vitus is saturated with fine yeast and a creamy foam. It is a specialty with a round character based on the extra long storage time. The fruity smell of dried apricots joins aromas of citrus, cloves and hints of banana. Full-bodied and sparkling with an effervescent mouthfeel. Thus, the Vitus does not taste like a typical Bock beer but more like a noble, fruity wheat beer. Perfect with red meat, strong cheese and also able to guide desserts. Brewed according to our centuries-old brewing tradition on the Weihenstephan hill.

16.9oz Bottle. The pour was a murky golden yellow with an average (1-2 finger) white rocky head that lasted throughout, reducing slightly to a small cap with excellent sheets of lacing. The aroma was of a light biscuit malt, light citrus hops and a sweaty yeasty with notes of banana, green apple, citrus (lemon), clove and a touch of honey. The taste was lightly sweet and very mildly malty with a hint of citrus that lasted throughout, and finished with a spicy yeast taste and had just a bit of banana at the end. The flavor stuck around for an average duration following the swallow, with a refreshing spicy citrus taste left lying on the taste buds. Mouthfeel was right between light and medium in body with a dry, creamy texture and a soft carbonation. Overall this was a very tasty and refreshing brew that had a great spicy banana ending and an awesome drinkability...

Ar: Moderate banana, black pepper, and tart peach; some clean dough and deep herbal notes; the herbal quality is very slightly vegetal. Ap: Cloudy straw gold; very large white head, beautiful mousse, and great retention, leaving an airy foam with mostly super-fine bubbles. T: Full, bready burst up front, slightly sweet; lots of wheat body, yet crisp; some clean, warming alcohol; fairly pronounced banana with clove, bubblegum, and black pepper accents; medium-low bitterness, herbal in hop flavor; peach skin and lemon on the finish. P: Medium, lush wheat body; high carbonation with a medium-dry finish. O: Tasty weizenbock; on the paler side for the style; clean wheat flavor and mouthfeel, with some nice hefe yeast notes and a clean, warming alcohol.

A big strong German Wheat beer. You can taste the wheat and barley and the higher ABV. A little aftertaste of banana and some similar characteristics of a weizen style.

Draft. Murky, almost opaque, orange in colour. Unusually pale for a Weizenbock. Yeasty and Spicy; cloves and cinnamon. Fruity; orange citrus, peel and bananas. Malty; wheat and caramel. Gentle hops. Alcohol well disguised but warming. Mega-spicy/fruity wheat beer. Sweet/sour taste. Dry finish. Very nice. A sort of turbocharged hefeweizen. Liked this a lot. Super wheat beer! (2008)

Hazy bright golden under a thick pillowy white head. Thick yeasty wheaty apricot-fruit estery nose with a dash of peppery clovey banana. Brisk full wheaty flavor with a gentle clove and banana fruitiness underneath. Lovely complex wheaty and yeasty flavor that has a brisk pale malty Bock strength behind it.
