COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
White Hoplosion represents a new variation on the classic style of wheat beer. The unfiltered beer combines typical balanced fruity flavors with fine distinctive hop notes to create an ultimate sensation of taste with 5.3 percent alcohol by volume. Using selected Bavarian noble hops, Weihenstephan emphasizes the bitterness of the wheat beer flavor, which is generally milder than lagers or pilsners.

Draft at PING in Arlington, VA. It would be perfect for the summer, so I’m wondering why it’s coming out now, but maybe the banana aromas and cloves are supposed to invoke banana bread. Had it with a bunch of guys and someone said it’s a little blueberry muffin on the back end of the taste. I could easily have 2 (3 if the company’s right), but maybe not a good session beer.

Draft at Churchkey. Hazy yellow pour, smallish head. Sort of like a hoppier hefeweizen; clove, less banana, and more herbal and spicy bitterness on both the nose and the taste. The noble hop use really comes through. I dig it.

Draft. Hazy pale yellow color, small white head. Aroma of citrus. Taste is bread dough and citrus, slight sourness. Average.

On tap at burger. in Santa Cruz. Hazy opaque straw color with a billowing white head. Around is full of the classic vanilla and banana notes, but there’s a strong apple note along with some floral and mild spice. Creamy banana, clove and nutmeg, and a solid noble hop character with accompanying bitterness. A very well done beer, a little discordant between the creaminess and bitterness, but overall a cool beer.

Draught at TJ’s: Faint aroma of wheat and a hint of hops. Poured yellow in color with a large, creamy, dense, off-white head that diminished but lasted throughout. Hazy. Not sparkling. Excellent lacing. Flavor is slightly sweet and slightly bitter. Tastes of wheat, banana, slight hops, and slight spice. Light to medium body. Average texture. Average carbonation. Wheat and slight banana finish is lightly dry. Where are all the hops?

On tap at Gourmet Haus Staudt.  First of all, love the name. Great choice, guys. Really.  Very pale hazy yellow color with a full hand of white head that almost HOPs out of the glass.  The aroma has grassy, floral (like a flower sHOP), and citrus hops as well as wheat and banana.  The flavor is very nice, as good as I had HOPed it would be.  Crisp wheat base with banana and clove along with huge hop flavor, very floral with a little hay, and lemon.  Rather yeasty as well.  Medium bitterness.  Lighter on the mouthfeel and very crisp with a good carbonation level.   I like this a lot.  Truly a HOP-notch beer.
