2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
UPDATED: NOV 28, 2011 Draught at burger. Add me to the camps that didn’t really understand this one. Looks like a wit, smells like a hoppy Belgian with a weird fruitiness, and isn’t all that hoppy in the mouth. Could have been a little old but the flavors just seemed a little discordant, not really overtly oxidized. Not something I would get again and I love almost every other beer from Weihenstephan.
From tap. Hazy pale yellow color with white head. Yeasty aroma, spicy, fruity, light hoppy, herbal, bready. Sweet and bitter taste. Medium oily body with soft carbonation. hawanna (3302) - Freising, GERMANY - JUL 12, 2015
On Tap at Weihenstephaner Bräustüberl

Draught. Hazy orange colour with a mediumsized white foamy head. Aroma is wheat, citrus, toffee, herbs, caramel and some mild wooden notes. Flavour is wheat, toffee, citrus, herbs and some mild yeasty notes. Balanced and refreshing Hefeweizen. Stuu666 (13433) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - DEC 18, 2014
Keg at praf. Pours hazy yellow, nose is zesty pine, taste is bitter and wheaty, bit fizzy. Daanminator (476) - Waalwijk, NETHERLANDS - NOV 15, 2014

In short: As name suggests. An classic german hefeweizen (bananas and friends) with the fruity hopping cranked up like an IPA. Very good.MrTipple (4968) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 12, 2014
How: Tap at Chimera, Oviedo Spain.
The look: Cloudy Yellow - blonde body topped by a persistent medium white head.
In long: The strong nose is enormously fruity with banana esters mixing with tropical fruity hops and even some “pleasant” cat urine that I often get from Citra hops. Medium size body with a well leveled carbonation creating a very nice clean mouthfeel which was as expected considering the brewery. Taste is more of the same. A polished true german hefe like german breweries make so easily. This base hefe is generously hopped with what tasted to me new trendy hops with grassy and tropical fruits flavors even if description says it uses noble Bavarian hops. Whatever they used I like. A rating transcribed from hand-written notes, because real beer geeks always drink beers with our notepad in hands and have sex with our fanny pack on.
Aroma: wheat, sharp grains. Appearance: pale, hazy yellow, massive, creamy, white head. Taste: light bitter. Palate: grainy bitters continue. Overall: OK Hefeweizen, reminds me of a Witbier. Pint at Big Brew, Morristown. MarcoDL (4969) - NETHERLANDS - JUL 24, 2014
These are the experiments I like. Wheaty body, like a German weizener. With some delicious fruity hops. Good beer. mkel07 (5988) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - JUN 7, 2014
On tap at The Burrow. Rating from December 2013. Pale straw colour makes you think this beer has no flavour bug it is quite the opposite. fugitive (2005) - Athens, GREECE - MAR 13, 2014
Tap. Color hazy yellow with big white head. Aroma wheat, fruits, banana, coriader. Taste wheat, banana, coriader, grapefruit.
