Pours an amber color with white head. Nose and taste of hops, citrus and caramel malt. Medium body.

motelpogo (8031) - Plzen, CZECH REPUBLIC - JUL 18, 2014
bottle from getraenke oase in munich, 38th b’day drinks. lightly musky orange with a fluffy head; loads of banana hubba bubba in the aroma; some synthetic watermelon flavours - i still like this kind of german hop character but having a feeling that won’t last too long. could use a bit more bitterness to balance things out but stiill quite pleasant

3.3
bastarda (506) - Freiburg, GERMANY - JUN 8, 2014
shared with Bierle and Konfuzzi; nose: banana; taste: banana, overall: banana. Nice, refreshing beer - but an IPA?

3.3
Hugi (475) - Waldkirch, GERMANY - JUN 3, 2014
Copper coloured, quite clear with a medium, dense head. Smell is hoppy, fruity (apricots, mango, tangarine) and a bit sour- but just a little bit of everything. Full bodied with a much more intense flavor than its aroma. Balanced bitterness and fizzy.

Ibrew2or3 (8814) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - MAY 1, 2014
50cl bottle pours with a clear copper body that has thick gold edges and supports a light tan head of foam that leaves behind some spotty lacing. The aroma offers up a mix of malt sweetend banana and citrus as well as a dash of sweet berry or cherry notes. Hmm. The taste begins with an unmistakable banana ester note that tries to head into IPA territory with mild malt sweetened citrus and slivers of pine hops but it does not get there. It does however pave its own way into a smooth hoppy creamy mouth feel IPA / Hefe blend that I find rather pleasing. It ends both like a hefe with a smooth mouth feel and lingering muted banana but also with lingering malt sweetened pine and floral hoppiness. Very interesting take.

bartlebier (4123) - Belchium im Biersgau, GERMANY - APR 14, 2014
50cl bottle - bb 09/2014 from Getränke Oase München courtesy of bastarda - danke! Dull milky yellow with bright eggwhite foam. The "Erst riechen, dann genießen!" on the label proves an odd self-cancelling imperative: upon opening the bottle I am getting more Weizen banana than anything else...after pouring, maybe some further top-fermenting wheat esters like peach, and a chalky spent wheat quality. Taste proves to be where more subtle pleasures are hidden: tangerine zest, lemon grass bitter hop notes and fragrant ripe pear wheat notes compose its body, with some wavering soapy notes and an unbalanced hop-resinous and paper-dry finish. Could the mystery Bavarian hop (apart from DE-Spalter, DE-Cascade, Citra and Saphir) be Mandarina? Overall quite headstrong, if conflicted heavy (abv wafts when warming) Franconian India Pale Weizen in the walloping Bavarian crossover tradition of Schneider Weisse TAP 5.

Embrouille (2854) - SWITZERLAND - FEB 10, 2014
Bottled 50cl. Yeasty resinous hoppy nose. Medium bodied. Good drinkability. Without major flaws. Definitely not my favorite from this brewery.

Bullit (4686) - Buffalo, New York, USA - FEB 9, 2014
Bottle @ De Drie Dorstige Herten. Hazy orange colour with a white head. Nose is light malty, butter, slightest hint of hops. Flavour is malty buttery, light sour. Not the slightest near anything that can be called an ipa, overall a mediocre brew.

2.8
caesar (7281) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - FEB 8, 2014
Bottled @ DDDH, large sample. Slight hazy golden color, medium white head. Aroma of butter, bit grainy malt, some flowery hop. Bit bitter in taste. Not really an IPA and a bit too buttery. I was able to finish the bottle, so it’s not that bad, but not really good either.
