COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Things that have meaning: Life, the universe and saison! Saison 42 is a French style, mostly harmless farmhouse ale, orange in colour and hopped with Bobec. Dry and refreshing and a great match to many foods. If you are new to this style you might say that it is almost, but not quite, entirely unlike beer. You would be wrong, this is the style that traditionally was brewed by farmers during the winter to be enjoyed in the summer after those long hard days of work. Batch 0008 Best served cold on a hot sunny day. Share and Enjoy!

Bottle at home from ales by mail
Pours dark chestnut with fluffy hire head. Slight ester aroma but less than in saison 14. Same true of flavour, lower wheat proportion perhaps, faint hint of hop fruitiness, fairly sweet finish. Not so keen...

On tap @ Ölrepubliken Göteborg. Peppery with a bitter finish. Not really how I like my saison, not a bad brew though!

ekstedt (6782) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - JUN 28, 2013
Draught at Ölrepubliken, Göteborg, Sweden. Almost clear deep golden, medium white head. Earthy and rustic, some herbal and peppery notes. Light to medium bodied, medium carbonation. Dry with medium bitterness. A solid saison.

brontebeach (184) - Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 25, 2013
Pours from keg dark amber, head initially then thins to nothing. Hops in the nose, in the mouth nicely balanced, dryish with a nice bitterness and tang of carbonation. Lacks the tartness of a 'real' farmhouse but a good swill with spicy food is a pleasant experience. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Keg @ CPK. Deep amber with a lively white wad. The nose is mashed banana, Saison yeast, cracked pepper. General spice rack, toffee covered berry. The taste is dark first fruits. Mild citrus tang. Hints of brett, pear. Spicy finish. Medium body, quite active carbonation. Overall, solid.

Very nice saison. Served with chicken which went together very well. Very rustic it was, herbs from the garden. Verily using the word very very much. Indeed. Very.

A little low carbonation. Nice citrusy, fruity and refreshing taste and aroma. Might a little to bitter.
