When you get to that time of day when that cup of hot coffee is no longer the answer, and you need something with a little extra kick, plait your bear, stick on your eye patch and grab a Black Perle. This milk stout is chock full of roasty malts, milk sugar, hopped with hand fulls of perle plundered from the unsuspecting and aged on a chest full of Zamorana coffee beans.

Cask Half Pint at White Horse Old Ale Festival 2012, Parsons Green, London in Nov 2015 - Dark Brown / Black in colour. Average foamy tan head. Excellent lacing. Malty; roasty malts, lots of coffee, sugar, some chocolate. Fruity; dark fruits, raisins. Sweet roast coffee malty throughout. Very flavourful for such a low ABV. Very drinkable. Very nice Sweet Stout! (2015-11-20)

Bottle from Prohibition Wines. Pours a dark brown/black colour with a beige head. Slightly antiseptic aroma. Taste of milky coffee, milk chocolate, liquorice, wood and cigar ash. Bitter, woody finish. Very tasty considering the low ABV. An enjoyable milk stout.

Bottle. Aroma has a definite coffee and licorice note. Pors dark with thin bubble top. Tastes sweet malts and caramel. But very smooth and with a growing licorice flavor on the palate. I have not had WB beer before but will check out more.

Bottled (Spontaneous KSMT tasting).Black colour, mediumsized beige foamy head, which leaves some lace. Aroma is coffee, roasted malts, some vanilla, liquorice and mild toffeeish notes as well. Flavour is very similar, in a very smooth way. Rather nice for being this low abvd.

Slight/medium aroma of malts, caramel, chocolate, roasted malts and coffee.

Opaque dark brown/black beer with slight yeast and with a slight/medium beige/brown head.

Starts medium sweet with malts, caramel and chocolate; ends slightly bitter and dry with roasted malts and coffee.

This beer is rather intense, complex and balanced. Has a lot of roasted flavour for a Sweet Stout, with that lactose giving a nice sweet touch. Extremely tasty for its abv, but the aroma could have been stronger.

Bottle. Teku. Deep brown/black with medium, light brown head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of roasted malts (mainly coffee, secondly chocolate), moderately caramel and light ashy notes. Taste is lightly bitter mainly due to addition of coffee, also lightly acidic, but first of all semi-sweet (chocolate-like). Medium body, slick/thick texture, soft carbonation, finish is coffee and chocolate with light sweetness. In general very good composition of roasted malts, which gives it nice and smooth taste.

QButelka 500ml. Czarny kolor. Dosc wysoka bezowa piana ,ktora opada dosc szybko do obreczy. Aromat kawy lukrecji czekolady kakao. Slaba kremowa tekstura i niska karbonacja.

UPDATED: DEC 30, 2016 Draft at Bru Craft. Looks and smells like coffee. Tastes of roasted malts and glossy coffee sugar candies. Hints of vanilla, hazelnut, currants, and chocolate liquorice. Smooth but feels watery for a Milk Stout. Not overly sweet. Not overly bitter. Not overly complex.

Bottle from Hops & Crafts Exeter, pours black with a foamy beige head. Aroma of fresh coffee, some roasted malt & fruit notes. Taste coffee up front with dark malts ,roast, dark chocolate ,lactose & so,e fruit, light bodied ,smooth & slightly chewy, perfectly carbonated ,good mouth feel ,the finish is dry, roasty , & creamy ,not as sweet as expected for a milk stout ,which is good in my opinion . Really well made low strength stout that tastes bigger than its strength !
