Our 200th brew is inspired by a kind of unofficial beer range we have, that started out life as batch 8 of our Little Things That Kill. This was a low ABV beer hopped generously with Sorachi Ace, Summit and Apollo. The beer quickly got the nick name of Sorachi Face Punch because of the huge Sorachi Ace hit you got from it. We decided to use this hopping on a slightly tweaked version of our Holy Hoppin’ Hell, a double IPA, which went by the name of Sorachi Face Plant, and again another brew of ours went down a storm. So for brew 200 we thought we would push ourselves as brewers and go bigger than we have ever before. Taking this hop profile a step further and brewing a triple IPA.

Tinaccio (514) - Milano, ITALY - AUG 22, 2017
On keg at Kill The Cat, Brick Lane, London, UK. It pours hazy orange, with a small white head. Aroma is alcohol, rum, hearth, spices, malts. Complex. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter. Body is full, carbonation is fine. Overall complex, better at the finish.

Ktwse (5551) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 5, 2017
Pours hazy golden with low white head. Aroma of pine, mango, peach, resin. Taste is sweet, boozy, marmalade and grapefruit. Light to medium bodied and smooth with soft carbonation.

Bottle from Drunk Dry, Kidlington, Oxon, consumed at home Friday 13th January 2017 whilst cooking Lilli chatni anna murghi kari (but with lamb instead) Pours reddy/amber, hazy. There is a large foamy white/off-white head, cheesey hop nose. Big warmth from the alcohol but far from harsh. Almost like a Barley Wine/TIPA combo’. After a while you start to pick up on everything this beer has to offer, I say after a while as I am just loving this whilst cooking away. I just love swishing this around my mouth, it’s bittersweet, warming, lovely beer, Loz loves it, I love it. On reflection I haven’t really said much about this beer other than its lovely, but sometimes that’s enough. Mmhh.... Lovely A7 A4 T9 P5 Ov17 4.3

Bottle at home, bottled June ’16 Batch 0320, my Juan hyndredth WB rake ... 3rd person to hit this goal after Mad Mitch and Rich the Villain, 03/12/16.
Rich clouded amber with a well appointed cream cap that stays for the show.
Nose carries Sorachi notes, caramel, sweet malts, pine, orange peel, sticky tropical punch.
Taste comprises an alcoholic kick, caramel malt, orange peel, mineral notes, dusty hops, Sorachi eveident but not overpowering.
Medium + body, well pitched masaging carbonation to drive this high boost number home, well integrated hop bitterness with a warming alcohol finale.
Decent for the ABV, Sorachi isn’t OTT and comes together well.

660ml Bottle at home shared with the Beast, 11th November 16. Pours a dark amber, viscous. Aroma is full on sorachi, caramel, malts. Taste is bitter, caramel, really complex, pith, hops, loads of Sorachi, sweet, candy, but not too much, ABV doesn’t feature. Great stuff

allanmb (276) - Tyne & Wear, ENGLAND - OCT 15, 2016
Pours hazy amber with good off white head. Aroma of orange juice, herbal and honey. Medium carbonation but nice body. Taste is citrus zest, tropical fruit, herbs, slight pine and toffee. Thick mouth feel, slightly sweet but not sickly. Nice very bitter finish

Bottle from Brew Bristol.
Sparse just off-white head, dark amber colour, very lightly cloudy.
Aroma of hops, grapefruit peel, sweet orange, bit of pine.
Very sweet taste with slight bitter aftertaste. Full body, long finish, quite strong carbonation.

evergreen0199 (3503) - Northwood, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 21, 2016
Keg at Craft Beer Co, Brixton, London. A hazy golden/orange coloured pour with a lingering medium white head on top. Sweet, hoppy, tropical fruit, caramel aroma. Tastes similar, sweet, hoppy, tropical fruit, caramel, orange, lovely sorachi hop. This is the best that I have had from Weird Beard, would really like to try it from the bottle.

sebletitje (10421) - Enghien, BELGIUM - SEP 4, 2016
Draft @ BBP Good Beer Feast 2016.

Bottle at Schnoodlepip, London. Hazy golden/copper beer with a decent offwhite head. Malty caramel aroma, citrus, onions notes, some dill. Boozy flavor, citrus, caramel, onions, some dill. Way too strong.
