French/Belgian Farmhouse Beer
Brewed to pair yeast notes with hoppy ones. Sorachi Ace, used in dry hopping this beer, gives herbal and sherbet-y aromas to brighten the subtle bready malt qualities. Saison yeast gives orange peel and dried fruit aroma, with dry lingering finish.
Saison is a French/Belgian farmhouse style of beer where the yeast is the star. True to Weird Beard traditions we like to pair the yeast notes with some hoppy ones to create this summer’s day in a glass. It is a dry beer but has enough fruity sweetness to make it very moreish. Should be served cold and well carbonated, you will never see this beer in cask.

foxo82 (900) - Bromsgrove (via Leicester), Worcestershire, ENGLAND - MAY 11, 2017
Bottle. Tonight is the last ever night I’ll be able to say Leicester City are Premier League champions. I need this to be good. Cloudy orange. Aroma is strongly orange. Packs more punch than a typical saison - more like an IPA. Muted grapefruit and orange. Strong bitter finish. Well balanced. Dilly ding dilly dong.

Trockener, moderat hefiger Antrunk. Steigend bitter, noch trockener werdend. Mild hopfig, dennoch vergleichsweise süffig. Okay. 8/9/8/8/8/8

Many thanks to Erzengel for sharing! Pours hazy orange golden colour with a mid-sized to small white head. Aroma of coconuts, grapefruits, some mild spices. Taste of medium bitter hops, green plants, coconut, citrus, quite nice!

Erzengel (8702) - Wuppertal, GERMANY - JAN 25, 2017
Many thanks to Grumbo fro this bottle! The beer is funky sourish in the nose. Smooth sourish beginning. Funk with hints of grain and a smooth moderate hopped body. The funk disappears fast and the end is smooth with sweetish grainy hints and a moderate bitterness. Very refreshing and great!

Psytron (2279) - Turku, FINLAND - JAN 11, 2017
Bottle, BBE August 2016. Smell of grain, sour fruit. Muddy orange colour, very high white head. Aroma of straw, sour fruit, some raisins and butter. Might have already gotten a bit spoiled. Sour, also mildly bitter.Plentiful carbon, dry palate.

imdownthepub (14547) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - OCT 8, 2016
On draught at The University Club, Oxford. Cloudy gold with white head. There is a fresh hoppy note to this, grapefruit and orange hints, drying, bitter a little fizzed. The bitterness lingers. Really pretty good.

Icedwarf (1648) - Etten-Leur, NETHERLANDS - SEP 4, 2016
Tap @ Brewda. Bruin bier met schuim. Smaak is licht hoppig, fris fruitig, en iets te zuur.

TET (3030) - Kaarina, FINLAND - JUL 7, 2016
A golden beer, a head is big and blond. Aromatic nose, fruitness with tropical notes, candies and flowers. Taste has fruitness, spicyness, some flowers. Medium bodied, quite dry, strong carbonation. The great saison where also the hoppyness is clearly noticable.

Growler from Oddbins Beer Ship, Blackheath. Pours a light hazy gold with a white head. Lots of spice in the nose, spash of sweet citrus. Spice and fruit dominance in the flavour. Tasty stuff.
