UPDATED: DEC 15, 2014 500ml bottle served in a Weizen glass. A: Pours a golden yellow color forming a big, bubbled and aired white head. Absolutely clear. Retention is medium while many lacing are formed and left in the glass S: Extremely grainy in the nose. Sweet. Metallic with some notes of honey. Hops are flowery giving a refreshing aroma to the beer T: Slightly sweet upfront. Mainly sweet grains, bready yeasts and smooth hops bitterness. A bit metallic in the mouth too. Hops have a mild citrus profile in the end M: Light body. Good carbonation. Grainy with a decent citrus hoppy bitterness in the aftertaste O: Extremely easidrinking beer. Great German Lager. bottle from landbierparadies. clear pale golden with a light head; grassy aroma; crisp and grainy, faint menthol, modest bitterness; pretty drinkable

GoufCustom (2119) - HONG KONG - APR 6, 2014

500 ml bottle bought at foodGARDEN in D2 Place, Lai Chi Kok.

Pale golden yellow colour; One and a quarter finger head and crumpety white foam which lasts for 90 seconds; Very sticky lacing with active carbonation; Strong aroma of lager malt, with molasses, light honey, light floral, thick bread, dough, lemon and grass; Medium sweet taste of lager malt, with strong molasses, grains, dry biscuits, bread, lemon and quite strong bitter hops and grass; Mid to light body. Dry, thick and slick palate; Mouth feel is strong body Pils, with pretty good maltyness, thick and sweet like a Maerzen. Slightly grainy, strong dry biscuits. Quite good… Hoppiness is good lemon and grass in nose and taste. Bitter hops is strong but not quite typical German Pils level, still expressive and astringent enough for a lasting bitter finish; Dry after taste, bitter and sweet to mouth.

Comments: Were it’s not the strong sweetness, this is a pretty well-made, close to on-target German Pils: Decent maltyness, strong bready character, and very hoppy in aroma, and pretty good bitterness. I would like this one more if it’s a Maerzen. As a German Pils, it’s far from perfect but still good.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein goldgelbes Pils mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch hopfig, grasig. Geschmack herb, grasig, minimal würzig.
