COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Liquid does not break the Fast - was a rule of fasting at the times of the Benedictine monks in Weissenohe. For this, now we owe the Mirror Carp as Fasting food and the strong Doppelbock for liquid intake during this barren time. In this tradition, we have brewed for you our strong Bonator the dark Doppelbock, physically and spiritually strengthening during the "staaden" time. A dark Doppelbock, spicy and strong as the tradition requires. Suitable for: goulash, pork shoulder, roasted meat, hearty snacks and strong game dishes

Clear, light copper colored. Has a rich rye-like aroma, dark breads, tiniest amount of fruitiness, plums, but a dry roasted aroma cuts through everything. Has a rich, malty flavor with chocolate notes, a bit fruity, more roasted than the typical sweet malty doppelbock. Has a good balance with the herbal hops. Lacks the malty depth of the best of the style and a bit drier too. Overall though, this is a damn good beer! Though I do love the style.

0.5lt bottle @ Valentin - Curious Bierkneipe, Volos Greece That’s a doppelbock the way I like it. Medium to full body, a bit roasty caramel with nutty notes, full of taste. Aroma is low, sweet/toasty, that could be better. The 8,2% ABV are well hidden but you get full flavor. ENJOY

Scopey (14736) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 16, 2016
Bottle at The Pot Still. It pours clear deep brown with a small off-white head. The aroma is rich malty action, bitter - sweet, brown bread, toasty brown sugars, treacle and fruit cake. The taste is bitter - sweet, brown bread, fruit loaf, raisin, sultana, plum, wood and sticky toffee pudding with a soft finish. Medium body and average carbonation. Hides the alcohol very well. Good balance and high drinkability.
