Pours a clear dark ruby-red colour (cherrywood) with a small off-white, not very long lasting head. Aromas of roasted malt, grain, alcohol and nice sweet fruits (cherry). Flavours of herbal hops, nice toast and caramel. Keeps his fruitiness. Well balanced sweet and bitter finish. Actually very drinkable, suprisingly light body for a 8% beer. soft carbonation. Good one! anders37 (27667) - Malmö, SWEDEN - MAY 22, 2015

Bottle, traded with McTapps and MichaelAwesome, thanks! Toast, caramel, nuts and dried fruit in the aroma. Not really sweet for the style, balanced. A bit too well attenuated, hence somewhat lacking in terms of body. On the other hand - given its parameters, it’s impressive how they managed to hide the alcohol. Easy drinkable, with additional notes of chocolate and marzipan in the flavour. Tasty. gam (4142) - brisbane, AUSTRALIA - APR 4, 2015

50cl bulky Bruderbottle bb06/2015, love this brewery’s mock-historical label design. Fresh yeast-quickened nose full of plum mousse, raisins, brown bread crust, marzipan. Drinks far easier than its whopping 8+% while typically offering more unilateral, but quality substance than layered subtlety in return: earthy, leathery malt roast, caramel on sundried tomato, brown bread, wild honey, fennel - at least a headstrong mix of sweet and savoury only found in the better specimens of this heavyhanded style. Makes sense in the right gastronomic context, or in lieu of it. fezzy (105) - California, USA - MAR 14, 2015
Great thick, bready nose on this cloudy ruby red-brown brew. Some of the breadiness gets lost on fairly strong spicing and bock yeast notes on the palate. A warm raisiney fruitiness lingers as the brew warms. A well-done basic doppelbock. alexsdad06 (11243) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - MAR 7, 2015
Bottle from backlog notes. Pours a dark reddish amber color with a large off white head. The aroma caramel malts, some apple and dark fruits, with mild roastiness. The flavor has caramel malts, some spicy hops, a mild roasted character, hints of molasses, raisins. Medium full bodied, decent enough. edpeg (911) - Berlin, GERMANY - FEB 7, 2015
Pours into brown body, off-white creamy head. Roasted malts, grains. plums. Palate slick, oily, sticky. Carbonation flat smooth, mouthful. Taste rosted malts, plums. Finish sweet malts, somedryness and licorice. Pretty tasty overall , ABV hidden well. PapaSkeetSkeet (1011) - Providence, Rhode Island, USA - JAN 10, 2015
Hazy light brown with 2 mm of fine dusty tan head that fades at a moderate-to-quick rate. Aroma is lot’s of medium-darkness caramel with a light sap and hint of earth. Bread, raisin. Body is medium, oily, fine and light carbonation with little burn. Flavor is caramel, some grass and sap, oat cookie, light bitterness. A decent doppelbock. No complaints, maybe not up to par with the exceptional melanoidin component of the Korbinian, but a notch below with now flaws.
