0.5l bottle that ogivlado got and shared with me (thanks!)
After a dunkel from Weissenoher, another dunkel from Weissenoher. Ah, well. They look similar too, big thick tan head that went away at a medium pace perching on top of a red-amber body. Light coffeeish, slightly chocolatey nose is quite familiar too. Still, the taste sets it clearly apart from the Kloster-Sud. Chocolate, raisins, malt, light, maybe too light, nice, simple drinkable dunkel.

Strong off-white head of fine and dense bubbles. Sweet malty aroma with a bit of spice and vegetal aromas. Color is a very nice dark crimson brown. Lots of bready malts, some roasted brains, brown sugar and some cloying sweetness. Little bit sickly sweet in the stomach. Finishes thick and malty with a bit of lingering spices and squash. An ok brew.

Monks Xmas pours crystal clear copper color with a viscous off white head. Dry, nutty brown malt aromas. Frothy light mouthfeel. Decent nutty brown malt flavors with mild chocolate.

0,5 l bottle, bought at Sörspecialista.hu, Budapest.
Poured clear reddish-brown with a foamy stable tan head. Moderated aroma of toasty caramel, some sourish yeast. Medium bodied beer with fine carbonation, toasty caramel, minimal bit of hop. Not bad but not a big deal...

500 mL (flip-top). Pours a clear deep red with a rocky, off-white, thick head. Awesome retention and lacing. Aroma is cherries, caramel, biscuit. Taste is cherry juicy juice. Very sweet and cherry centric.

Deep amber beer. The nose is quite clean and toasty. It’s fairly clean with a pronounced munich malt toastiness. Nice noble hop spiciness and a bit of minerally character as well. Nice balance of toasted malts and soft herbal hoppiness. Nutty and pretty damn tasty.
