COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Test vom 2.12.2009, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 12,10,11,11,12,11 - 11,00

Deep red-brown. Toffee and a little cocoa on the nose, body is toasty caramel with earthy hops and a red fruit tang. Excellent.

Pours a filtered hazelnut brown color, with a huge, spongy head, from which big bubbles emerge. Smells of whole grain bread, with a toasty note to it, topped of by copper and wood bark. The nose got a restraint toffee sweetness to it, complimenting the rich dark malts perfectly. Has a very soft mouthfeel with medium carbonation, revealing a bubbly quality during the finish. Tastes mirrors the nose to a certain degree, the profound malts draw most of the attention, with a mild acidity adding to its depth. Its pleasant sour note evolves to a toffee peak during the finish, evoking the image of caramelized grapes being dipped into bakers chocolate. A leafy quality, as well as a mineralic carbonation diversify this impression, while the beer remains expectedly well balanced as expected. Well made Dunkel, which got a nice twist to it, while integrating a pleasant depth.

0,5l Flasche. Lecker!

Really enjoyed this one. Poured a nice brown with an off-white head. Malt and roast aromas with some nice spice. Finished nice, sweet and complex.

UPDATED: JAN 11, 2011 Bottle (as Monk’s Christmas). Head is initially large, frothy, light brown, mostly lasting. Body is dark amber. Aroma is moderately malty (toasted bread, caramel), moderately hoppy (honeysuckle flowers), with notes of minerals and tangerine, hint of smoke. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Solid, clean, and delightful.

Deep amber beer. The nose is quite clean and toasty. It’s fairly clean with a pronounced munich malt toastiness. Nice noble hop spiciness and a bit of minerally character as well. Nice balance of toasted malts and soft herbal hoppiness. Nutty and pretty damn tasty.

Nagyon finom kis serecske, kicsit édeskés, malátás, olyan melaszos. Érződik a karemel is.

Clear dark amber with a nice head and lace. Taste is full caramel malt with light spices and light bittering. Easy to drink and nice full-body, especially in light of the 5.1%abv. Recommended.
