Head is initially large, frothy, light brown, mostly lasting.
Body is dark amber.
Aroma is moderately malty (toasted bread, caramel), moderately hoppy (honeysuckle flowers), with notes of minerals and tangerine, hint of smoke.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, moderately bitter.
Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.

Deep amber beer. The nose is quite clean and toasty. It’s fairly clean with a pronounced munich malt toastiness. Nice noble hop spiciness and a bit of minerally character as well. Nice balance of toasted malts and soft herbal hoppiness. Nutty and pretty damn tasty.

Bottled (thanks TBone). Copper colour,small off-white head. Aroma is caramel malts, some slight toasted notes as well as mild chocolate. Flavour is chocolate, some roasted malts, mild caramel and some dark dry fruits Also some quite bitter notes in the finish. Very pleasant Dunkel.

Bottle from South Lyndale Liquor. A light brown color and low carbonation. The aroma has malt and lager yeast but there is also some light spice I can’t identify, along with the lightest nutmeg. Rich palate and lots of sweet malt. A very good dunkel, and unusual with the light spice. A very interesting beer. Pours a beautiful clear amber red. Smells of black cherries and caramel. Taste is similar, cherries, caramel and vanilla. Had on New Years.

0.5l bottle. Dark amber body, off white head. Sweet malty aroma, mostly toast and caramel, but there is some floral hoppyness too. Taste reflects the aroma. Bottle. The Monk’s Christmas version. Medium to dark brown. Small head. Rum cake and dried fruit aroma. Taste is a pleasant malty sweet flavor. Nice beer.
