bottle, labelled Bonifatius Export Dunkel. Clear brown colour, medium-sized beige head. Aroma of roasetd malt and chocolate. Medium-bodied, malty with hints of chocolate and roasted malt. Dry mouthfeel, very slightly hoppy, especially in the finish. nhorween (645) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - OCT 21, 2008
Tap at Spuyten Duyvil. Probably my favorite beer of the event. Hazelnut color with a loose white head. A little bready and lightly sweet. Clean and easy drinking (like all the beers that day).

Tap at Spuyten Duyvil. Deep amber colour with a thin white head. Aroma is lightly malty and toasty wit a light caramelly sweetness. Chewy and sweet with evidence of decoction mashing. Fairly complex maltiness with lots of toasted nuts, soft light malty sweetness. Great balance of soft toasty sweetness and light herbal bitterness. There is even a bit of cocoa and herbs as you get through this. MiP (15667) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - SEP 21, 2008

Botella. Clear dark brown with anice off-white head. Malty and hoppy aroma. Good mouthfeel. The flavour has a good well toasted maltiness with a pleasant mild bitterness, caramel and light smoke. MoritzF (9901) - Ottobrunn, GERMANY - SEP 4, 2008
(bottle) Clear, chestnut colour with a beautiful and stable, slowly lacing off-white foamy head. Aromatic, caramel-malty and roasty aroma with a touch of cacao and light notes of herbal hops in the background. Light-sweet flavour with a burnt bitterness, light to medium bodied, moderately carbonated mouthfeel. Roast-malty taste with caramel and cacao/chocolate; quite dry, roast-malty and slightly burnt bitter finish. Lacks a bit body but is anyway a likeable dry Franconian Dunkel with noble bitterness (18.04.07).
