Easy drinking session cider. Sweet yet not sickly. Elegant taste of pear but not as a complex in comparison to the weka apple

Subtle and sweet pear notes. Light crispy body. Pale golden in color with a wispy white head. Not a bad perry. Easy going. 3fourths (9357) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JAN 15, 2014
Side-by-side with the Weka Apple Cider there’s little difference to make note of. Same cleanliness, same juiciness, same mineral / calcium carbonate, same body, semi-sweet sugar level and effervescence. Same malic acid in the finish. My palate may have been off this day, but the pear flavor was lost on me, coming across as apples in nose and mouth. From draft at Moa Brewing Company in Blenheim. Fun fact: the Weka is a flightless bird of New Zealand that looks 3/4 chicken and 1/4 duck. They were used by the Māori as a source of food, perfume, oil to treat inflammations, feathers in clothing and lures to catch dogs [Wikipedia]. kiwianer (3428) - Otorohanga, NEW ZEALAND - NOV 15, 2013
The head is medium, the body light. It smells sweet fruity, refreshing. The taste is sweet, sugary, fruity, ok. Travlr (25876) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - AUG 22, 2013
Lounge cider at AKL. Clear golden color, champagne bubbles. Aroma of summer fruit, apples, light citrus. Taste is similar. Decent enough. WheatKing (1338) - Phnom Penh, CAMBODIA - AUG 7, 2013
Bottle from La Patate, Phnom Penh. Pours near-clear, lively carbonation. Nose of sulphur, white wine, pear, Fairly low tannin in the mouth, sulphur, lots of carb bite. This is a great perry! Maybe doesn’t live up to the standards of the antipodeans but I could drink this all day.

pear is subtle, too subtle, which leaves the sweet cider wash to overpower everything. not too bad but fairly bland and a little too sickly for me. maneliquor (3514) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - AUG 26, 2012
Bottle from Mane Liquor. Rather boring pear cider. Not enough pear. Very mild with high carbonation. Average at best Jimthechap (2064) - Christchurch, NEW ZEALAND - FEB 1, 2012
Pours clear light yellow-gold with a definite vinho verde tinge with no head and plenty of sparkling carbonation. The aroma is more toward champagne yeast, green berrifruit, gooseberry and slight apple character. I get very little pear and plenty of cider. The flavour is dominated at first by a rush of prickly carbonation and then softer, subtle fruit flavours. A fair bit of acid and off-dry in style. A fairly short finish too with the tingle of bubbles remaining long after the fruit has gone. A good quencher on a hot day.
