’Red Feather’ is brewed with all English ingredients, with plenty of crystal malt to give it a sweet caramel flavour balanced with English hops.
The name comes from the Welbeck logo, a pair of red feathers which are used on everything Welbeck, including our pump clips.

rauchbier (3949) - Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, - AUG 18, 2012
Bottle, from Doddington Hall Farm Shop. Golden brown, thin shortlived white head and low condition. Gentle melon fruit and earthy hops in the nose, very soft and quite caramel sweet in the mouth initially but with a developing hoppy bitterness and some nuttiness, finish is slightly dry and hoppy with more lingering nutty notes.

ManVsBeer (11124) - Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, ENGLAND - MAY 1, 2017
Cask @ Dirty Dicks, Halifax. Dark clear red with a thick creamy head. Has a light berry-sweetness, a bitterness and a sessionable character.

Itstasty (116) - East Yorkshire, ENGLAND - APR 2, 2017
Cask @ The Jemmy Hirst. Rawcliffe E Yorkshire. Amber body, off white head, which leaves a mottled effect down the glass. Quite lively on the tongue, well balanced with bitter, tang and fruitiness all there. Decent bitter.

Bottle traded with Col. Poured a clear golden / light brown colour with a small white head. Light hoppy aroma with caramel and fruit. Quite sweet, light bitterness. Light body. Finish has a slight bitter edge. Not bad for a <4% bitter.

Rune (13720) - Tromsø, NORWAY - MAR 18, 2016
GraviCask, half pint shared with Finn at Canalhouse, beer fest Champion Beer of Nottinghamshire. Deep dark brown body, missing head, minimal lacing. Roasted caramel malts, hints of earth and bread. Similar flavours of caramel, bread and malt-fruity bitterness to the ending. Well balanced. Decent (Nottingham 20.02.2016).

Finn (8305) - Tromsø, NORWAY - MAR 4, 2016

imdownthepub (15517) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - OCT 13, 2015
Cask conditioned at The Hand & Heart, Nottingham. Amber with off white head. Sweet malts to the fore, light and smooth with a sweetish caramel follow through. Touches of earthiness. It’s okay.

theprof (1364) - Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, ENGLAND - SEP 20, 2015
Cask. A deep copper ale with a full foam top. Sweet aroma with toffee notes. Taste has some fruit and a backbone of bitter but the biscuit and caramel flavours predominate. On the palate it’s medium to full bodied with a slick feel and lively carbonation. This may detract from its appeal as a session bitter. Certainly it has quelled my urge for a second. But give me a minute...

christhoel (286) - chesterfield, Derbyshire, ENGLAND - OCT 18, 2014
earthy, brown, clear, white foam, light sweetness, lightly bitter, medium body Deep reddish amber color with a small off-white head. Aroma is sweet malts, some raisins, mild notes of sweetness as some slight earthiness. Flavor is fruity, wooden, herbal and mildly nutty with some raisins as well as sweet malty notes. Very nicely balanced and pleasant. Somewhere between a bitter and a mild ale.
