COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We start with a traditional German Hefeweizen recipe, using 50% wheat malt and 50% Pilsner malt. Without being too irreverent to the original style, we make some of our own modern twists, the first being a sizeable whirlpool hop addition which lends a very refreshing citrus note that pairs nicely with the delicate sweetness from the wheat and Pilsner malts. We use an American-German hybrid yeast strain, which contributes the characteristic Hefeweizen fruitiness, with notes of banana, but with a restrained spicy phenolic character, keeping the beer approachable while maintaining the complexity of a well-crafted wheat beer.

Can. Big wheat malt aroma with notes of Belgian yeast, clove and a little bit of banana. Pours cloudy golden colored with one finger of off white head that has excellent retention and good lacing. Starts with huge wheat flavors with notes of spicy Belgian yeast. Finishes dry, but refreshing with clove and banana flavors but quite light on the banana. Drinkable, but a little light for a hefe.

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2018 On tap at brewery. Cloudy golden pour. Aroma is alot of wheat. Taste follows, missing the strong banana and clove. More like a wheat beer.

Six pack of cans guzzled at home with LeninCat. Somewhat hazy appearance though not as hazy as their Frank Hays IPAs. This has a ton of vanilla, some banana, and not as much black pepper / clove as some hefeweizens. Pretty damn easy to drink. Not a masterpiece by any means but it's an easy chugger if you don't mind drinking a vanilla wafer.

Tap at the taproom. Cloudy orange pour with a white head. More wheat than hefe, but I do get a hint of banana. Thicker mouthfeel.

Slight citrus in aroma but mostly wheat/grass. Will agree with others this is more of a wheat than hefe. Still drinkable

From a can. Pours a cloudy, straw gold and makes a one finger head. Aroma is of light malt, biscuit and wheat. Tastes of wheat, light hops. Pretty unremarkable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Cloudy gold with half finger of white head. Aroma of oranges, honey, and coriander. Strong citrus flavor and moderately acidic. Also fairly strong coriander. Light and watery. fizzy.

Can (Dec 6, 2016 canning). Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is light to medium yellow. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (grain, corn starch), with notes of lemon zest, rubber. Flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter, slightly unclean. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic. This is MUCH more of an American wheat than German...zero banana or clove, just some lemon zest along with raw malt and some off phenolic-rubbery-cement like ickiness. Watery, tart, and bland in the mouth. Very clunky and aimless.

On tap at Weldwerks poured a hazy gold with a small lingering off white head. Aromas of wheat, yeast, clove and light fruitiness. Palate was light bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of wheat, yeast, banana and light clove with a smooth dry finish.
