A dark copper amber IPA with a thin mocha head. In aroma, a light grainy malt with light boiled veggie notes, grassy hops, OK. in mouth, a smooth caramel malt with light burned notes, treacle, grassy metallic hops, OK. On tap at Session 99, June 23, 2012. Sammy (12359) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 5, 2012
On tap at Volo. A decent colour, a dark golden yellow with an orange hue, lasting head. Medium bodied, very little hop aroma. Decent drinkability but just passable IPA. Some off notes, more flavour from hops would be appreciated. jercraigs (10591) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 1, 2012
UPDATED: JUL 10, 2012 2012-07-06. No notes, this seemed much less grainy than the previous sample, much to its benefit, but is still very malt forward and not very bitter or hoppy for an IPA. +1-2 overall. Can shared by Tupalev

2012-06-23. Crisp very dark amber body with a large foamy beige head. 4+ Very malty, with sort of an earthy malt character, light green hops, earthy dusty malt in the finish. 5+ Aroma has a similar earthy dusty malt character, mild leafy green hops. Average plus bodied palate. At Session Festival 2012, Toronto
Hazy amber pour. Aroma is fairly malty with lots of iced tea and sweet crystal malt in there. Hops are actually pretty expressive despite this - some citrus and some toffee. Decent although could be a whole hell of a lot dryer.

[4568-20120623] Tap. Toasted caramel popcorn and McDonald’s buns aroma. Clear, dark dark red body with a medium-lasting creamy off-white head and some lacing. Burnt dry pizza crusts and toasted grains flavour. Medium body. Average. (6/3/6/3/12) 3.0

Smells like sugar, honey and a little bit too strongly. Bad impression from the beginning. The pour is brown amber with no lacing, dead head. Taste has slight bitterness, more on the apa level than ipa. On tap at volos. blankboy (7714) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 9, 2012
Can [500ml] shared with HogTownHarry, tupalev, GregClow, jerc & mabel -- c/o tupalev. Pours a slightly hazy orange-copper with an average size diminishing frothy off-white head. Odd aroma, it’s papery and malty along with light hops and some vegetal notes. Flavour’s better, with caramel malt and light hops. Average bitter finish. Average bodied. Not bad, just decent. July 6, 2012 - with blankboy, gregclow, jercraigs, mabel & tupalev. 473ml can c/o tupalev (dated Jun 17/2012). Clear and bubbly coppery amber with a smallish foamy quick-diminishing head. Aroma is a little vegetal, but some vague herbal bitterness (6-). Taste is a little metallic up-front, otherwise simple grain backbone with an increasing herbal bitterness. Average body, good carbonation, it gets a little harsh as it builds on the palate, and the bitterness is pretty generic. presario (4916) - Stampede City, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 8, 2012
Grey Cup 2012. Cool tap handle demands a pint. Unfortunately the aroma and flavour tend towards vegetable. Strong malt base. Vegetable is better than boots. Spab (3905) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 16, 2012
On cask at the Only. Pours a cloudy orange/brown with small off-white head. Aroma is sweet caramel malt and earthy hops. Flavour is sweet caramel malt, a little fruit and earthy hops. Ok, but not one of the better Welly One-Offs.
